1. I chose the 3rd pick expecting to land either Reyes or Hanley. I ended up with Hanley. So far, so good.

2. My strategy was a common one. Target scarce positions early with stars, and then gradually settle into pick-the-best-available mode until all slots were filled. I wanted to rely more on proven players, rather than risk too many hyped up breakout candidates. I executed pretty well, by nabbing a good SS/C combo early, as well as two OF (not as deep as normal) and two closers in the first 9 rounds.

3. No one pick really stands out. I tended to draft players where they should have been taken. VMart was a reach but by mid season I'll be happy I made the reach, I think. Garko in round 13 has good value potential, and getting Chase Headley gives me a nice upside play. Alou in round 22 could provide some underrated OBP/SLG help once he gets healthy.

4. I would have taken Giambi over Ellis in round 16. I have a couple low OBP, high SB types, and Giambi would have balanced the team out with his OBP. He's like Bonds in that he could hit .250 but have a .400 OBP. Very valuable in the RIBC format.

5. Always tough to tell which teams will emerge, but I like the look of Papa's Ace's and Peter N's offenses a lot. I'd have to make Holt the favorite, who did a great job in the top slot building around ARod. Not many weaknesses there, unless age (Sheff, Posada, Kent, Pedro, Hoffman) catches up with him. That is quite the collection of senior citizens, but a hall of fame collection, so we shall see.

Good luck to all, can't wait for opening day!

1. Draft position choice rationale

you can go years without getting to draft #1, and I kinda like drafting on the turn in slow drafts. position runs don't bother me, and it's easier to work into RL schedule.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?

I don't come up with a rigid strategy, other than maintaining % categories (obp, slg, era, whip). I just try to flow with the draft and find bargains while avoiding reaching on any pick. Also, I don't draft any player without scouring news and stats first.

2. Favorite picks?

Well obviously it's nice to have A-Rod. I remember being pretty happy when Posada fell all the way to 8.16. Stunned might be a better word for it. Actually there were quite a few players that I was relieved to end up with. Hoffman in the 9th. Wigginton/Peralta at 14/15. Matt Diaz in rd 20 could really turn out to be something. Same with Keppinger in the 21st.

3. Picks you wish you could do over?

I don't have any specific players that I wish I didn't draft, but I do wish that I had been able to squeeze some more SB's in somehow. I'll just have to pick them up as the season goes. The base stealers with acceptable %'s just weren't falling in the right places for me. I don't intend to punt steals, but it's definitely a weakness atm. Also as JKaye pointed out I have some old-timers. I'm not a huge fan of having a lot of guys pushing 40, but I do like vets with track records and I don't think I reached on any of em.

4. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. why?

airallnight - decent SP's to work with and saves look to be ok atm. lots of sluggers. ot sure if Gordon will prove to be worthy of 6th rd this year but we'll see. and thanks for stealing chris duncan ya jerk.

valkyrie - Utley, Lee, Ordonez, Guillen and McCann was a great start at putting together a bunch of mashers. Can't say I'm in love with where it went after that. Nice SP's though. Ryan and Turnbow as RP's is a problem, but things change. basically a nice nucleus of hitters and sp's here.

I think you can find pluses and minuses on every team, and you can't make too much out of just the draft. There's a lot more to fantasy baseball than good/lucky drafting.

Thanks to Guru for the Invitational leagues, and thankd to Bandos for commishing!

1. Draft position choice rationale.

I just wanted to be in the middle of the pack somewhere.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?

I eschewed the conventional wisdom, which says spend your 70% of your capital (whether salary or draft positions) on hitters. Instead, I went after two starting pitchers--Santana and Bedard--in the first two rounds (5th and 28th overall respectively). Nevertheless, I think I still then managed to put together a decent outfield in Dunn, Hart, Byrnes, and Cust. My infield of course suffered, and it suffered even more when I decided on starting pitcher Chris Young, who was still available in the 7th round (101 overall). So, in that sense, I executed my strategy well; now it remains to be seen if it was a good strategy.

3. Favorite picks?

I guess I really like what I'm seeing with Yunel Escobar. He came to spring training in great shape and is now slated to bat second, and while he'll be the Braves' starting shortstop, he nevertheless qualifies for three infield positions. I took him early (11th round--169th overall) but I'm happy to have him on my team. I also liked getting Manny Parra (17th round; 265 overall). He, too, is having a dynamite spring, and though it looks like he may get sent down to AAA at the start of the season, I'm banking on him for some strong production later on, especially if the Brewers are in contention.

4. Picks you wish you could do over?

I agonized over taking Carlos Pena in the 4th round (60th overall), and I'm thinking now that I probably should have gone for a proven closer instead. I'm also worried that I wasted my 8th round pick (124th overall) on Ben Sheets, whose career has been mercurial at best and whose outings this spring have been less than stellar.

5. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. Why?

Diligad's sticks out to me for its solid overall balance. I also like Holt's team; he appears to have passed up stolen bases (and to some degree runs), but he has excellent strength across the board elsewhere.

1. Draft position choice rationale
I did not have a choice in draft position, but I don't think draft position matters as much in fantasy baseball as much as it does in hoops or football. If I had a choice, I would have picked 8 or 9 so there would be less chance of missing out on a run at a position.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?
Before the draft, I looked at all the statistical categories, and determined what it probably takes to achieve 16 (high) and 9 (average) points in each category based on last years results. My target is to be high in a couple of statistics, and average or better in most others. I decided not to be overly concerned about SB's because I knew I would be unable to get someone like HRameriz with pick 1.13, and most players strong in SB are weak in 2 or more other categories.

For my first 3 picks, I wanted to draft two hitters at any postion that are strong in several categories and not weak in a category other than SB, and one top SP. I would have drafted Santana if he were available at pick 1.13, and Peavy at pick 2.04. I didn't feel any other SP's were worth taking this early. After the first 3 picks, I wanted to start looking at filling positions.

I wanted to draft a closer with my pick in the round after the first closer was chosen so I would get a top one. I also wanted to pick the backup to my top closer at some point. For pitchers, I interested in scoring near the top of K's, ERA, and WHIP and less concerned about W's. There are more RP's that are strong in these categories than SP's so I like to draft setup men.

I feel Catcher is the least important position because most catchers are weak in several categories and they don't play every day. I wanted to draft an average catcher in a late round.

3. Favorite picks?
I think getting Jered Weaver with pick 13.13 will end up being a great pick that late in the draft. He is having a strong spring training.

4. Picks you wish you could do over?
Probably Kaz Matsui. He has been injured often in previous seasons, and recently had surgury for an anal fissure. Must be painful. If I had known about this problem, I would not have drafted him.

1. Draft position choice rationale
I had a late choice (12) and lucked into one of the better spots (6) primarily as a result of Hubble's generosity and sense of fair play
2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?
My base strategy was just to take the best available player without regard to specific categories. I did try to target position scarcity at 2B, C, and OF which I perceived as thin. As Holt mentions I was very successful in my first 5 rounds getting 5 pretty good hitters. At that point I had no pitchers at all and much to my dismay no base stealers either. I then used picks 6-8 to take 3 decent but not spectacular SP's Oswalt, Zambrano and Vasquez. Still no RP's, no stealers. With #9 took Polanco as a value I couldn't pass up. With 10 I panicked and took Juan Pierre and his 50 projected SB's ? At 11
when I finally turned to RP's I had little choice -took injury risk Ryan. After that it was mostly filling in positional needs by necessity
taking injury risk Damon for steals, and a bunch of CI's to try to cover my 1B/3B hole.
I would say the draft did not work out as I had hoped, RP's went way to early for me, I failed to properly address the roto category aspects ( I am more a fan point player). I echo Holt's assessment -great hitter start, decent SP's, major drop in quality after pick 9.
3. Favorite picks?
I don't know-hopefully my best pick will come from my Bonds, Damon, Thomas, Turnbow, Rogers hope chest.
4. Picks you wish you could do over?
I hate Juan Pierre and Damon and all my base stealers LOL
5. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. Why?
Rotoguru draft analyzer picks Mike V, Papa and Mudge as the favorites. Personnally I like Bandos and Holt as having the top well balanced teams. Zephyr has strong pitching and peter,Rangers and Sandwich look to have good offense.
Most of the teams appear too close to single out as the clear favorites. Besides I am not very good at thie roto aspects so my opinion shouldn't count too much LOL.

1. Draft position choice rationale

I had the first pick in the Draft Positions Draft and before the
pick order was even set I knew I wanted to be in the middle. I
went with 8th because I had 8 players targeted in the first round
and I knew this way I was assured one of them. I also felt that
the best way to manage the draft would be to select in the
middle of it.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?

My draft strategy was to draft hitters early and progressively add
to my pitching stable. I also wanted to be sure I grabbed three
Closers. I only drafted one Closer in last years RIBC and was
scrambling all season get save. (I didn't want to put myself in
that position again) As far as steals go, I didn't want to rely on
one guy to grab me 40 steals and potentially hurt me in the
averages.

By grabbing Cordero, Corpas, and Percival I got my 3 closers
and by getting Granderson and Rios in the 3rd and 4th rounds I
locked up 50 steals combined from two guys who should be
around .950 OPS.

2. Favorite picks?

All of my Tigers. Not just because I'm a fan, but I feel like they
all fell to me rather than I reaching for them. Cabrera in the 1st,
Granderson in the 3rd and Renteria in the 7th.

J.D. Drew in the 14th. He puts up great averages, I expect .380
OBP, .450 SLG. If he get 475 AB's he's a steal in this round!

Wandy Rod in the 21st. He struck out 158 batters last year and
he's still on the right side of 30. I see a lot of potential with this
pick.

Corey Patterson in the 24th. Considered the greatest Lansing
Lugnut (my local single A baseball team) of all time. Here's a
guy who could see a good amount of time in the Reds OF. He
could potentially steal 35 bases if given the right number of
AB's. In the 24th you want someone who can contribute and
Corey will do just that.

3. Picks you wish you could do over?

Overall I'm pretty happy with all of my picks but with hindsight
being 20/20 I suppose I wouldn't mind taking Saito in the 5th.

4. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good.
why?

I like what Holt did in the 1 slot. It's tough to draft on the ends (
which is why I avoided them) and I think he did a great job
filling in a squad behind AROD.

Also, you have got to like Peter N's team. A team built around
Power and I think he grabbed some nice SP options later on in
the draft.

1. Draft position rationale: I chose 15th because I like being at an end. I can often narrow my picks down to two and get both. That being said, I think that if I had it to do over again, I might take 13th to have that chance to get Pujols, despite the injury concerns.

2. Basic Strategy: I had already completed two drafts and was into a third before starting this one. One thing that stood out to me was the relative expensiveness of saves in relation to my evaluation of the closers skill. In other words, it seemed like there were few closers that I had confidence in to actually get the saves and the ratios. I know from past experience that you have to stretch for saves and steals in this format. It is hard to do both. Usually I try to be middle of the pack in steals and tops in saves, thus drafting a couple of closers before my first SP. Due to a variety of factors, I basically punted saves when I made my third and fourth round picks. With better than average offensive players available, I passed on the Borowskis of the world. We will see how the waiver wire treats me this year.

As usual, I had a few sets of projections to help me through the middle rounds. I was less reliant on them than in previous years, I hope.

1.15 Grady Sizemore, OF, CLE

I can hope and pray that someone like Rollins or Utley would fall to here but to no avail. As they were snatched up I though I might get Albert. Nope. So when my pick came up I just click ed the top guy in my Q. Sizemore is a five cat guy, though a bit low in the percentages for me. Still, I always have a problem with steals and he will certainly help a bunch there. I expect CLE to score a bunch and for Grady to lead the charge.

2.02 Jake Peavy, SP, SD

After offering this pick for trade, and then seeing Hubble do the same with his, I knew that I would have to make it. There are many good players to choose from here but most were OFers and I already have one of those! Dunn would have been a nice complement, or Crawford or Soriano to solidify steals. All good picks to match with Sizemore expect for their positions. Many of the MI options seemed like a stretch, though I am high on BJ Upton as well. Peavy and Santana really make up a tier all unto themselves and I have had Peavy the last few years with great success. I am happy to welcome back a 230+ K guy to anchor the staff.

3.15 Brian Roberts, 2B, BAL?(CHC)

I already had Roberts typed into the word file. Oops. Guess others saw the value as well. I had planned on he and Chris Young so

3.15 Chris Young, OF, AZ

I think his solid rookie season was a precursor of things to come. In this format, he is a contributor in all 5 cats as his BA is the only problem so far. 30 HR and 20 SB isnt too much to ask.

4.02 Ian Kinsler, 2B, TEX,

After losing Roberts, I had Kinsler as my next best 2nd sacker. The ratios are merely average but the sbs and runs will really help. With Sizemore, Young and Kinsler, I am well on my way to actually competing in SB for the first time in my life. Feels weird.

5.15 Ryan Zimmerman, 3B, Was

He is hitting that time in his career where I might get a career year. A new park, a bit stronger lineup, maybe it equates to bigger numbers. 3B doesnt seem to be as deep as it once was so I grabbed one here.

6.02 Scott Kazmir, SP, TB

injury..what injury? Maybe more wins in an improved TB team with the usual high number of strikeouts. Nice complement to Peavy to form a core of SP. Usually I have two closers by now. As 5th is the highest Ive finished and have never been in contention before last year, maybe that strategy is flawed. Well see.

7.15 Jim Thome, UT, CHW

Doesnt help fill scarcity but my early picks are quite low in the slg category, thus I had to suck it up and take the best slugger available. If I get 130 games from him and a .550 slg I will be very happy. Crap, anything over .500 in 500 ABs would make me happy.

8.02 Dustin Pedroia, MI, BOS

Kind of a homer pick here as I like the kid who plays for my team. Nonetheless, the MI depth always scares me in these drafts. There was no SS worthy of this high a pick and while 2B is deeper this year than in years past due to the emergence of Phillips, Cano, Pedroia etc., we still start 48 MI in this league. It seems like he is solidly entrenched in the top of a potent Boston order and should score runs while having no speed whatsoever. Decent ratios for a MI as he has a bit of pop.

9.15 Lastings Milledge, OF, WAS

PECOTA is quite high on Milledge and I seem to own him in every league. Based on all other kinds of averages, this is a huge stretch and maybe he would have lasted a bit longer but it is obvious that others have access to pecota as well. He has been sitting at the top of the hitter list for quite some time as it seems the potential SB really help him. By adding him to sizemore, young and Kinsler I should have a good chance to be at the top of SB this year. But boy my SLG is struggling

10.02 Kevin Youkilis, 1B, BOS

Another homer pick. Youkilis is the definition of average for this league in every way except OBP where he helps. His RBI total is dependent on where he hits I the lineup.

11.15 Kosuke Fukudome, OF, CHC

Another PECOTA pick. All the news is good out of Spring training with him either hitting 2nd or 3rd. PECOTA has him at a .900 OPS. Id take anything over .800 at this point in the draft. Plus, how can you not like saying his name a lot.

12.02 Jeremy Bonderman, SP, DET

I still see potential here even though I appear to be the only one. His K numbers will still be well over 150 and I am hoping that the ratios get better. On a solid Tiger team he may get more wins than his skill level.

13.15 Carlos Marmol, RP, CHC

My first relief pitcher. And hes not even a guaranteed closer. At this point in the draft the closers are basically gone. Wow! There are some pretty crappy pitchers in that bunch too. This year it seemed like you had to go for 2 or 3 out of the top 9 or hold your breath and pray. When it became apparent that I wouldnt get anywhere near the top 9 I decided to basically punt saves. Marmol should be the guy in Chicago but even if he is not, his stuff is filthy and he will add some quality innings and a good K rate.

14.02 Mark Reynolds, CI, AZ

Still trying to make up for the power outage at the top of the draft. Reynolds had the highest SLG of any CI left. While he may lose some ABs to Tracy eventually, I need that stat here.

15.15 Freddy Sanchez, SS (er2B), Pit

I know that Sanchezs BA is basically not sustainable and that he loses value in this format. However, with such a short bench and three position eligibility, he is quite a valuable addition to help me through the inevitable injury bug. I can plug him in just about anywhere and he doesnt kill me.

16.02 Barry Zito, SP, SFG

No one thinks Zito is more overrated than me; in fact, I loathe him and avoid him like the plague normally. Not this year I guess. Rowand will certainly help in Cf as Zito is a flyball pitcher. His track record is not CY Young, but he is a solid ERA around 4 and WHIP around 1.3 guy. Ill take that from my 4th starter.

17.15 Khalil Greene, SS, SD

I should have probably gotten another pitcher here, especially a set-up guy who might close, but Greene was too tempting. I had him as option B in case Sanchez was picked before me. Since he was far and away the top MI left in the draft, I felt like it would be good to get him to add some depth. He also will add to SLG whereas Sanchez adds to OBP (both at the expense of the other of course). With 7 guys to fill 6 spots, I like the possibility of not having to go to the WW to fill infield spots this year. Crossing fingers

18.02 Hiroki Kuroda, SP, LAD

Back to pitching; PECOTA is high on him so I guess I am too. 10-14 Wins ERA around 4, WHIP around 1.25. Id be real happy even with a K9 of 5.

19.15 Al Reyes, RP, TB

Did a fine job except against the Sox and Yanks last year. I dont trust Percival to hold up. Decent ratios.

20.02 Josh Bard, C, SD

Last I checked, he catches. I need one them. Praying for a .750 OPS and somewhere in the 60 R+RBI range.

21.15 Andrew Miller, SP, FLA

Real high risk, high reward. I remember watching him pitch at UNC. Kid is a Lefty stud who hits the high 90s. Control, predictably, is an issue. I wont get a lot of help in WHIP, but he could be useful for Ks.

22.02 Ryan Freel, OF, CIN

Will this guy ever be more than a fantasy tease? If it is injuries, the managers whim or Wily Mo Pena, Freel never seems to get enough ABs to make a fantasy impact even though he has 40 SB potential. Or did at least. As a backup outfielder, he provides excess speed and competent work with the bat. If he actually stays on the field, he may be valuable to my team or as trade bait for those without enough SBs.

23.15 Bartolo Colon, SP, BOS

Knowing how Boston likes to baby their young pitchers, and with the news out of spring training not great for the Boston starting pitchers, and with Colon pitching well, this seems like a good risk for the 23rd round. No idea what to expect; he could be cut after 2 starts, he may never make two starts, or he could be a nice league average pitcher who has value in a league like this.

24.02 Daniel Cabrera, Sp, BAL

Another fantasy tease. Cabrera can throw a ball threw a brick wall. His K numbers are always good. Too bad he walks the world and is a mental midget. He is still young enough to harness the power. This year would be a good time to do it.

25.15 Ivan Rodriguez, C, DET

Surprised that he was still available in a 16 team league after 17 catchers had been drafted. I could have taken another questionable pitcher here who would have most likely gotten cut but I am not too sold on Bard getting enough playing time in SD. Pudge is good insurance in a great lineup.

Picks I love: None really. I think I got some steals based on my value calculations but that is always iffy. If Fukudome ends up at .900 OPS and Kuroda is as good as advertised, and if Lastings has a break out kind of year, and if Colon finds a fountain of youth and if Cabrera finds the strikezone and if Kazmir comes back from his injury quickly.and if. That seems to be the theme of my team.

Pick I wish I could have over: Freddy Sanchez, who I knew that I checked to make sure he was still available at 2b, ss and 3b but he isnt now. Must be a games played thing in another league of mine weird. Thank goodness I grabbed Greene who is my starting SS now. Bard. I think pudge will be starting for me so that was a wasted pick. As it turns out, I could have gotten some questionable closers at the 7/8 turn but I love Thome and Pedroia so it is nice to be able to root for those guys.

When I entered the teams, I noticed immediately the effect of not drafting closers your offense is much better and the top SP are too duh! Teams I like, Rheo looks tough; WG had a nice draft until Lackey went DL for 4 weeks; Mudge is in my boat with few options for saves but those SP are awesome. Valk only drafted 2 rp, so his offense and top 3 SP are quite nice. I like a lot of the players on C1s team as well. Im not totally impressed with holts team but I am impressed with holts managing ability so I know he will be daring and competitive. As many have said, there are pros and cons. Mostly when I start to be in awe of a team, I see a glaring weakness, like speed or saves or quality SP.

This draft was quite different from anything I had ever done. I usually have closers and try to take fewer chances. My draft could be competitive or it could quite quickly blow up in my face. Good Luck!

1. Draft position choice rationale
As I said in the sporadic rationale thread, I have drafted on both ends of an RIBC draft and was looking for something closer to the middle this time around. I felt the middle gave me opportunities to pick without worrying about too many picks before I came up again either direction. I picked 7th over 9th because I felt the odd-numbered round difference of two picks was slightly more advantageous.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?
I began with a "best available" philosophy/strategy getting hitting first. Somehow my strategy devoloved into Speed + OBP. Before I knew it I was in a bad way in regards to SLG and RBI. Even sitting at a mid-draft position I missed the closer run so I went on a little tear for RP/ closers in waiting. Looking at Guru's rationales in RIBC he seems to be loaded with middle relievers as well. I think there is good value to be found in middle relievers, especially when it comes to WHIP. The one RP I missed out on that would have fit really well into this scheme was Rafael Betancourt (14.05- DallasHomer).

3. Favorite picks?
David Wright at 1.07?! Wow. Torii Hunter 8.10 could be a real find. He latest I see him in the other RIBCs is 6.xx

4. Picks you wish you could do over?
Todd Helton was a reach at 4.10, as was James Loney at 7.07 I stretched for Loney looking for SLG. I'm not super thrilled with Jarrod Saltalamacchia at 12.10 because I worry about his playing time.

5. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. why?
Interestingly, I had most of Bandos mid-to-late rounders lined up in the even-numbered rounds and he grabbed them before they made it back to me. Peter N. is loaded in Hitting and solid in Pitching. PapaCub looks pretty stacked, as well.

1. Draft position choice rationale
I definitely wanted to be in the middle as I do not like the lag between picks when you are at the ends.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?
Best available hitter concentrating on SLG and OBP for the 1st 3 rounds then an SP. When the closer rush happens, wait a round then use the next 2 picks for closers. I'm very happy with Howard, Ichero and Jeter with the first 3 picks. I think Smoltz was a good pick to lead the pitchers. Don't like picking Weeks. Wanted Kinsler with this pick but Bandos snagged him. Some will think Josh Hamilton was a reach. I think I got him cheap.

2. Favorite picks?
Hamilton for his power in Ranger Stadium and Iwamura, leading off for Tampa plus being eligible at 2nd and 3rd.

3. Picks you wish you could do over?
Weeks and Josh Fields.

4. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. why?
I used Rotowire's projects and draft program. It rated Mudge, Papa and myself as the three top teams.

1. Draft position choice rationale
I wanted to be somewhere in the middle. I would've preferred drafting 7th, but 9th was just fine. I like drafting in the middle to try to avoid missing out on runs.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed bit?
My draft is pretty much the same every year. I always like going heavy hitting early on and finding sleepers at SP. I feel like hitters are easier to predict and not as susceptible to injury. I feel like I did a good job of executing the strategy. Harden could be top 10 or could get hurt the first week of the season. If he is huge, I feel good about him and Cain anchoring my staff.

3. Favorite picks?
Harden(12.08)
Swisher(5.09)
Mora(19.09)

4. Picks you wish you could do over?
Lester(17.09) too early

5. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. why?
I see holt, mikel and jkaye as the teams that stand out. Should be formidable opponents. All 3 of them have nicely balanced teams.

1. Draft Position
I usually don't mind picking at the end of the snake, it has its own advantages. I did let go of the 6th spot because some1 wanted it and i was late to pick.

2. Strategy
I had a good draft strategy... only problem is i didn't pick :) As you all know i'm was sailing in the carribean so there went both my draft and strategy. I did gave some drafting instruction and some kind of a Q for the first rounds. From my Q-instruction i ended with Papelbon-Wagner and Russel Martin. The category i don't mind being weak after the draft is SP... this you can adress to a certain point with active F/A pick-up and match-ups and later in the year with trades. Harder to work with are batting ratios (OBP and SLG) SB and SV should be my strenght and i'm happy that my team have strenght at least since it's something to work with. At some point in the year, those SB-SV player can worth a lot on the exchange market if need be and if there is a close race for points. So i see myself weak in SLG-ERA and WHIP... and strong in SB and SV... althought i didnt run any projections. (if someone has projection already made, i'd appreciate to have them!)

3.Favorite picks
Wagner at 5.16
Huff at 19.16
Robertson & Carpenter as 23th and 24th rounders as i don't mind using a bench spot for an ace on IR.

4.Not so favorite picks
All my MI... Jonhson (6.01)Hudson(10.01) Lopez (14.01) and Teahen (11.16) were not very good value IMHO.

5.Best teams IMHO
As i said, i don't have any numbers to back this up so this is only gut feeling:

Even without looking his draft, i know Holt is going to be a pain in the butt for his active managering. Now looking at his draft i'm even more worried. I beleive its the first time i see some1 picking 2 SP and 1 RP with 3 of his 4 first pick... I beleive that he did a fine job puting togheter a solid balanced team after that. Hats off.

Well, funny enough my other pick is some1 who took 2 SP as first 2 picks... Mudge. Solid SP and Hitters... dumped SV and not so sure about SBs but with some active pick-ups it should be strong enought for top 5.

Mike17...PeterN also look solid.

1. Draft position choice rationale
I like picking around the bend so I can see everything, plus it's a bit easier to manage. Usually get around the end of the draft but with pick 2 available I was curious to see what it's like drafting up high for a change.

2. Basic draft strategy? How well you executed it?
No real strategy. See who's out there, take the best player available and adapt based on how things unfold. As for how it worked, it's easy to follow since there are no hard rules. I'm ok with how the draft went. I like some of the things I did and some of the others I'm not too crazy about in hindsight.

3. Favorite picks?
The first six rounds I'm really happy with who I got. After that I like where I got Carmona and Buehrle.

4. Picks you wish you could do over?
Lots. Vernon Wells I probably grabbed a bit early. He probably wouldn't of made it back around to me again but I felt like I needed an OF at the time. Looking at the pitching that went after I probably should of went for another starter. I felt I had to reach at times to fill needs (Ankiel, Accardo) and I drafted a lot of upside players that I need to come through for me (my last 4 picks).

5. Teams, other than your own, that you noticed as being good. why?
I haven't taken any in depth looks but on first glance I really like Holt's pitching from 1-9. No depth there but that's what the waiver wire is for. I also really like TD's and Fosten's pitching. Offensively I like what TD has. Also standing out is Dilligad and Mikel.
