A reminder: These players were drafted! You must pick them up as Free agents - it is awkward if you use waivers. Sorry, but Fosten has the rights to Cueto.

Bandos:
Colon = Baldelli

Fosten:
Cueto = Burress

WG:
Price = Van bechstonennenenene
Kershaw = Vandenhurdenenenenene

I already thought things were going bad with Pedro on the DL, Sheffield missing time with a torn tendon in his finger, and Posada sitting a couple games with a sore shoulder. now Giambi leaves a game early with a tweaked groin and Wigginton's x-rays show a fractured thumb. not a good first week at all. I don't like this.

I already have announced this, but i'm not satisfied with my MI, since Lopez doesn't even start in WAS. I would be willing to pay a little extra to secure a starting SS or upgrade my 2B.

On another note, i'll try to use the trading block feature early in the season, it might be the best idea to trigger some activity in the league so we can all improve our weaknesses. It would be nice to see other manager using it too. Any thoughts on that?

I've always liked the Trading Block. I shop there first when I'm looking to change somebody.

I'd work with you, Hubble, but I don't have the most impressive SS/MI options, either.

I finally got a mark in every column today. It's only taken a week. What did I expect, though?

Yesterday's Pitching line was:
Pitchers used: 5 IP: 4.1 W: 0 S: 0 K: 2 ERA: 0.00 WHIP 0.00

CIW (Closers-in-waiting) will do that for you.

My SP "real" offenses are killing me:
IP: 39 ER: 9 ERA: 2.08

Felix Hernandez has thrown 15 SHO innings and is 0-0.
My lone W happened in the game Hudson gave up 3 ER- the most by any SP this season.

After this disastrous start of mine, i would consider trading away a closer. Both Wood and Wagner are on the block.

I will consider all reasonable offers. I'm mainly looking for OBP,SLG or a proven SP with good ratios.

Multi player deal are welcome.

There is NO WAY I'm in first place with the week that I just had. There's got to be bad math going on somewhere... Somebody must've divided by 0 or forgot to carry an imaginary number.

my 5th DL trip for the season. Keppinger with a broken kneecap. wheeeee

both my keeper league teams are in first place atm, but this team is just brutal. I'm doing what I can but with no DL slots it is extremely difficult to get by in situations like this. I've only got 7 active pitchers right now (4 starters) and a catcher who plays maybe half the time, because I have to make sure I've got the other positions covered.

Stop rubbing it in Holt, you are still ahead of me who has had few injury problems!

Your team reminds me of the 2006 Red Sox, who at one point in August had 1/5 of their SP, and 4/9 of the starting 9 - and the closer on the DL too. It was ugly.

lol. I've also got Kent missing games now, and some of my guys are platoon types (duncan, stairs, scott). I have zero bench players now, so when those guys don't start, I just don't get any production there.

on the bright side, I don't even have to log-in to check my lineup. everyone who isn't on the DL is set to start. set it and forget it. also, reports on posada and keppinger sound good so far.

DL trip #10

The New York Yankees have placed OF Hideki Matsui (knee) on the 15-day disabled list with a knee injury.

I don't know if I've ever even had 4 DL's in a season before. 10 before the All-Star break is just stupid.

Well, things are tightening up at the top. Holt has overcome numerous injuries (I don't think you mentioned it at all though! :) and is in contention as rangers and snadwich fall a bit back to the pack. I thought after the Zito/Bonderman fiasco that I was done but I have a chance to pick up some serious points in saves and wins if I get lucky.

Good luck the rest of the way - trading deadline approaches.

I noticed that as well. Its a shame. Just for kicks, I checked out the baseball 101 (100 bucks a team/keeper) league activity. All teams had made at least one move in the previous three days - a huge trading spree on the deadline and just before. Being able to trade draft picks helps.

Looks like a great finish for those at the top. Good luck to all.

they prob think it doesn't matter because they are out of the running, but their teams could still have an effect on rotisserie points for all of us. I still think there should be a thread where commissioners can leave a record of players who have gone inactive on their teams. not exactly a black list, just a reference.

I'll take the small victory of getting over 90 pts. Maybe I'll even qualify for AAA again. After the Zito/Bonderman nightmare, I am happy with being somewhat competitive - I think I wasin 15th, maybe even 16th at one point. but Holt amazes me.

Holt -

Congrats on winning it all. It was a challenge and you managed exceptionally well again, and as always.

I am having second thoughts about non-pay leagues. The Baseball 101 league is always wicked active, but we forked over 100 bucks a team. All my other leagues are largely a waste. I love the RIBC format and find it very challenging (and I keep on failing miserably) but I don't know if I will do it again next year.

Thanks Bandos. For some reason I find RIBC more interesting and fun than even leagues that I pay to play in.

I just don't understand when people go inactive on their teams. Especially when I see those same people managing their football team...

Actually, I only have a 7.5 pt lead on Bags now. Imagine if his team ends up winning it all with him being inactive the final 5 weeks. That would be something.
