Moved out to the east coast 3 years ago from that area, ever since you've been getting snow-snow-snow:)

Well so much for that Glaus pick panning out ;( now it's maybe July, well he's out'a of my clubhouse.

Reminder to self- "CC" hates April and here's hoping he doesn't choke on the 'Big Apple' the whole year.

You can have him back in about 4 weeks...

Well after 2 months my pitching strategy is paying off{I'll now regret saying anything for the next two months}, but...Weeks' injury is a real scrambler..MIer who has pop and speed and now gone for yet another season...next year I'll learn:)

Made it to first place, but with injuries to 2 of my top producers, I had better enjoy the limited time that I will be here. Not only are Votto and Bartlett out, but Andre Ethier has not hit since Manny was suspended. The league is very competitive with 5 points separating the first 5 teams, and with more than these teams having a chance to win. Injuries and the WW will be the deciding factors in determining the winner.

I try to keep a low profile and not make waves, but should the Jered Weaver-Roy Oswalt trade be approved?

I looked at both players on the player rating page for our league. Weaver is ranked #7 and Oswalt #96 for starting pitchers. The parameters are different, but in my Yahoo league, the discrepancy is even greater, Weaver #7 and Oswalt #900.

2 cents to spare here...

There are a few universal baseball truths that I have managed to learn in the last few years, 2 of those truths are on display in the above mentioned trade.

The first truth is that Roy Oswalt will have a monster 2nd half, he seems to keep Houston in the race every season.

The second truth is that pitchers with the last name of Weaver are a headache to own.

Based on current stats, the trade looks crooked, but based on recent history, the trade looks crooked in the other team's favour...

Here are the rules (per guru):

4 teams must register a protest - via email to the Commish within 24 hours. At that point, the trade goes to a vote of all teams. A majority of teams must oppose the trade for it to be rejected. Voting should take place over the ensuing 24 hours.

Not something I would do, but unless someone has evidence of collusion--the trade needs to be processed.

There is the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." My team is doing doing very well right now, so I'll see if my trade of Chamberlain for Wood was the right thing to do.

So far the trade has been more of a wash. They both suck.

It is interesting and deflating how quickly things can change. A few weeks ago I was in 1st place with 120 points and today my team is 4th with 102. With both my hitters and pitchers slumping at the same time, I should have expected nothing less. The Zephyrs are coming back with a vengeance after the all star break.

Looks like they started the comeback a little before the all-star break? Where in Hoboken do the Zephyrs reside? I lived there from 2005-2007 on 1st and Adams

I'm melting...Rickie Weeks injury is now starting to really rear it's ugly head his "normal" stats would look pretty good to me right now...Hart can't decide if he wants a beard or not please just find your bat...My pitching is going to have to be perfect from here out and at the same time get some pop from the bottom of the barrel...but all in all it is shaping up to be a real dogfight to the end...

My once invincible lead in SBs is gone; in the past week I Hate Phillie has had 16 SBs to my 6. This is the fault of my primary deficiency in this game, lack of patience. I had Najer Morgan and dropped him in in my search for saves. I did the same with Jamie Happ , the Phillie rookie pitcher. If I remember correctly, only the winner of AA advances to RIBC, although I think one season the 2nd place team did also.

I did a very quick analysis of how many points the top 5 teams could gain if all of their players did reasonably well over the final 2 months of the season. For what it's worth:

Phillie +19

Hoboken +20

Rev +14

Dillig +19

One Tail +23

Well it was a nice ride, Hart under the knife for appendectomy, probably gone for August...I was on a razor thin edge on offense this certainly does not help...

Rev-Your ride is far from over. There is still about 1/3 of the season remaining, and the constant changes at the top are going to continue. I made it back to 1st with the help of 2 free agent picks, Matusz,a rookie who has the potential to be an ace one day and Gorzelanny who may have regained his 2007 form. Right now my pitching is dependent on these and 2 other rookies, Niese and Latos. Rookie pitchers have the tendency to mix in blow-ups with their good starts, and their innings will be severely limited. So if my hitters do not wake up, my 1st place run will be very limited.

It sounds like a serious tear. I hope that Niese can make it all the way back, but hamstring injuries can linger for the rest of a player's career (see Jose Reyes).

Loki you can have your SB point back. I felt like I had to do something drastic to pull back ahead of you. Unfortunately I just gave you 1 point back in the process.

IHP-The last time I had 120 points my team went into a tailspin and I dropped to about 102 points. You made a great trade, and it will make the race much tighter. Rev, Toral and WG are still very much in it,and depending on injuries and hot and cold streaks, the race is up in the air.

Two more trades that have strengthened the teams chasing me. I am going to sit tight, hope my players stay healthy and don't slump, and watch the free agents. Rev, you should get into the action.

I am in California visiting and made my first trip to Dodger Stadium last night. I saw my rookie Gorzelanny pitch, and he looked sharp against LA. Of course I did not start him as I couldn't root against the Dodgers. It was great to be in a stadium full of other Dodger fans for the first time since they moved from Brooklyn.

Wolfer, thanks again for commishing, and to those advancing, congratulations. This was a very competitive league with at least 6 teams having a chance to finish at the top. I was lucky to have my hitters get hot at the right time. Overall, a great season.
