Subject: NoQuitters Keeper League Supplemental Draft

This thread is for the 3 round non-snake slow live draft to be completed. Each team has 4 hours to make a pick starting on Wed 4/8 at 9am EDT. Please check the Yahoo League before picking to make sure that the player is available. If a pick is missed, I will post the next highest ranking Yahoo player for that team. Clock is paused from midnight to 9am EDT.
The draft order is as follows:

We did really well today -- any thoughts about continuing the slow draft -- untimed after
round #3 is finished -- up to the Saturday Yahoo fast one -- to see how far we can get slowly?
With any luck, we are on schedule to finish the three rounds by Thursday night...

i'm okay with staying slow and try to get thru another round... goldcoach brings up a good point, however. we need to be clear on what happens if we get stuck mid-round. and i don't think it would be wise to go untimed. it only takes one person to get stuck away from a computer to grind the whole thing to a halt...

It would not be fair to be in the middle of a round so if we were to go for round 4, we'd have to make sure we'd be able to finish. 4 hour clock would continue though. Right now, I think we should stick to the 3 planned rounds and if we keep up the pace and finish by this evening, then we can discuss further.

I am trying to figure out the Yahooooooooooo predraft/draft page. Since I am 2nd to pick, I need to know
what I am doing. I did a mock draft to "practice" and have been faithfully making lists.
However, when I go to the predraft player rankings page, it does not indicate who has already been
taken, although when you click on the players you can clearly see that they have been assigned to our
teams.
Will the site open up for actual drafting at exactly 6:00 pm? I am assuming that Yahooooooooooo
controls that since they have the countdown timer going already. Or can we get on it earlier? OR do I do
a refresh at 6:00?
I want to make a predraft ordered list on Yahoooooooooo and have it ready so I do not have to search for
some of the players I want, but all players are listed even those I know are keepers. Hmmmm. I do have a
list of who is not taken already and am using that. Can I assume that if I put someone on my list and he
is taken in our slow draft that he will not appear on my list when the draft starts?
Sorry to seem so detailed with my questions, but the 2 min window is really short and I do go early on
and want to be ready as I still have MANY needs for my team!

Judy - I've never done a keeper draft on Yahoo, but I notice now when sorting players, those that Jedi has marked as being drafted or keepers have a 'k' by their name designating so. My expectation is that upon starting the draft our teams will be populated by the keepers and they will not be among the draftable players. (but again, I haven't been in a league that's tried this before)
Have you ever done a live draft before in yahoo? You can enter 15 minutes (or so) early and set up and save a queue that will be used in case you get disconnected or time out. This can be modified as the draft goes on...

Thanks SY- the preset freezes at the 45 minute mark as best I can tell. So I made a long list to get me
through the first 2-3 rounds without having to try and find a lot of these guys. After that, I guess it will
be pure name recognition from my other leagues as to whom I choose.

I think we will stop after 3 rounds. Round 4 will officially begin with the live draft so I can take Floyd off my short list now!! :)
Thanks to everyone for getting this done in 48 hours. The draft will start at 6pm tomorrow night, but you can enter the draft room approx 45 mins before to get an idea of how it will work. This is my first time using the keeper option along with the live draft in Yahoo so I'm not sure exactly what to expect. I preranked all players up to about 350 myself, and I assume that the keeper players will show as taken once it begins.

About an hour to 45 mins before the draft, there will be a Enter Live Draft on the league page that you can click on. It will be very apparent!

On the My Team Page if you select opponnents it will show you a weeks worth of opponnents with your pitchers probable starts denoted. I haven't figured out a quick and dirty to see who my players might be facing yet.

I looked for the start ^ for the week and it is not there past Tuesday... I guess you get a rhythm
for the SP rotation and go from there.
That said, 4 (count 'em) of my 7 SP are starting on SUNDAY!! Ugh. That means only one more
start this week for them. There goes a batch of stats wasted! I think remembering from last year
that SP were ^'d about 3 days out.
This will be so very different having to decide on Sunday who is going to be good for an entire
week. I don't even know that about myself!!

hmmm. In my other H2H I set the lineup in edit lineup and they transfered over...
How does that work??

Yeah, I don't think it'll show the matchup until the lineups have been locked. I just realized my only CF is Maybin who hasn't been hitting yet. For this first week with two pitchers on the DL, I have no choice as I'm starting all my active pitchers.
