7-Keepers due Feb 15

3-Prospects due Feb 28

1. Number of keepers= 7
2. Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF-4, Util, SP-2, RP-2, P-4, Bench-7, DL-1
3. Maximum innings pitched= 1350
4. Stat categories= R, HR, RBI, Number SB, AVG, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP
5. 7-Keepers declared by Feb 15
6. 3 Prospects declared by last day of February
7. Regular Draft:
a.Draft order inverse order of previous years standings
b. Nonsnake
c. Prospects may be drafted in the regular draft
d. If a drafted player is not found in the Yahoo! data base you will have an empty slot that must be left empty to retain ownership of drafted player.
e. During the draft you are personally responsible to be sure a player you draft is not a keeper prospect. If this occurs and it is not caught before others draft you must take a player that remains on the draft board.
f. Any prospect from a team's keeper list that is drafted to a team's regular roster during the regular draft and BEFORE the prospect draft may be replaced during the prospect draft.
8. Prospect draft:
a. The prospect draft shall commence the day after the conclusion of the regular draft.
b. Snake Draft
c. Inverse order of previous year’s standings
9. Prospects:
a. Less than 300 Abs
b. Less than 150 Innings pitched
c. No time limit on holding a prospect, but they must be dropped or added to your 7-keeper list at the conclusion of the season in which either a or b above is reached
d. If a prospect is called up to the majors and you place him on your 25-man roster, he loses his prospect tag, and he may not be replaced by another prospect until next years draft.
e. When the "prospect" goes over the agreed to limit, he may stay as one of your three prospects during the current season, BUT the prospect may not be switched back and forth between 25-man roster and prospect roster. Once he is placed on your 25-man roster he is treated just like any other player.

OK, I have all keepers loaded into both Yahoo and drafttime...I have also got the prospect keepers removed from the draft list (nice addition)...I will finalize the prospects Tuesday.

I will then flip the switch on for the draft so that everyone can go in and fix their queues as they choose. I'm thinking that we will officially start the draft Monday March 7th.

After Tuesday I would suggest if you haven't already to go in and acquaint yourself with all the additions Fred has made especially nice is how you can set queues round by round...

hey guys - just a heads up that i am not likely to pick during the weekend. i've been in the middle of moving into a new place, and i'm going camping this weekend.

i haven't had a ton of time to even see who's available, so it's likely i won't make a pick until monday. i *might* set up a queue for the first round if i get a chance to go over my cheatsheets, but we'll see...

Barilko: Looks like you are going with a prospect team with your later picks!

Just drafted Jesus Montero in the prospect draft. As far as I can see he was not claimed as a prospect keeper, and he wasn't drafted in the regular draft. Give me a shout if I missed something--he seems like too big of a prize to fall to me, even with the third pick this year.

Jesus isn't that strange to fall PD.

You were only the third pick.

Trout is a higher rated prospect.

That leaves only one other pick and, well he blew it. (Although Belt is highly thought of also)

Sorry again about LOOOOOONG pick time.

On Jesus isn't he going to play this year or at least enough games over are prospect limit. Making him a tough choice for keeper or next year prospect?
Still a solid pick.

Please do drop Montero. While nerve (for one) might believe he's a scrub, he's still protected regardless.

:)

In related news, maybe I'm missing something about Berkman, but why was he dropped? I'm happy to pick him up off the wire (and did), even though that'll give me 4 guys with 1B eligibility. Looks like I'll be wheeling and dealing next spring! I've easily got 7 keepers (Holliday, Wainwright, Strasburg, Berkman, VMart, Bautista, Uggla), plus a bunch of guys just on the outside (Chapman, Cordero, Oswalt, E. Santana, I. Davis, Gardner).

I dropped Big Puma. I figured I had extracted all the useful life out of him. I also figured there was no way I'd keep him, so why bother hanging onto him when I'm fighting for a championship and he wasn't producing. He'll be 36 at the start of next year... maybe he's got another 30 HR campaign in him but I'd bet against it.

WG it's in the rules. It's the same in all Yahoo and ESPN leagues. The rule states that the day the limit is reached, all stats for that day are counted no matter how many innings you go over.

Every league I am in I have watched managers who are paying attention load up with sp in every slot on that last day to get maximum points.
