I guess it is justice as I just sneaked in to AAA but I would really like to know what the odds are of anyone so consistently getting one of the last two picks in every rotoguru draft LOL.

For those of you - like me- unfamiliar with ESPN- if you follow Mike's join up league and then keep scrolling down the link page you will eventually find the join option- Do not look for a link in the menus on top- do not try to go to ESPN general and call up the league and join that way- just stick to the link page and keep scrolling down- LOL- I feel so inadequate sometimes when I can't find lnks where I intuitively feel they should be.

A pause from 8 pm until 3 am PST. I get real tired of you east coasters not just treating the west coasters as second class citizens but now virtually ignoring us. From my standpoint you might as well just run the clock w/o a pause but if you have to pause it pause it from 1 am EST to 8am EST or something remotely reasonable. LOL (kind of)

JL- afraid you internationals have to fend for yourself but something like 40% of this country lives in the Pacific time zone and except for controlling the congress (a dubious distinction at best) we get no respect from tv networks, fantasy draft pausers or sports schedulers. Hope things get better for everyone in Japan. An 8.9 earthquake is amazing even to an earthquake vet and I can't even imagine a 35 foot tsunami.

I have resurrected my program that sends out each pick as either an email or as a text message.
Essentially, each time a pick in your draft is made, you would receive an email or text message in this format: RIBC-AAAe: 3.13 Utley, Chase, 2B, PHI by [manager]
If you have it sent to an email address, that should appear as the subject. If sent as a text message, that will be the message.
Note that if you have these sent as text messages, each pick will count as one out-of-network message. With 300+ picks to go, don't use text messages unless you can handle the marginal cost of that many out-of-network messages.
If you want to be included, send me (davehall@rotoguru2.com) your message destination(s) - email address, cell phone #, or both. If it's a cell phone, you also need to tell me your cell phone carrier. Also tell me which league you are in.

Re: 46 and 50. What time do you go to bed and wake up? An 8 PM pause should be fine for you; you can certainly peek in before bedtime. If it's not your turn, you have 3 AM plus 6 hours. Are you still asleep at 9 AM? If so, you were probably up until midnight or 1 (Pacific - long after just about every east coaster is asleep) and the only way this can hurt you is if there's a flurry of activity before noon in the east.
I would be fine with adjustments here, but work with us; give us some insight into the daily routine.

The clock at this point is still a bit useless. As slow as this draft has been, I don't think there's been a single situation where its taken someone longer than 6 hours to pick.
With the Queue system that is in place, there's really no excuse to need a full 6 hours to pick.

BH I sleep from roughly 2 am to 8 am PST- Yes I am up by 9am PST but that is not really the point- Why turn the clock off before 12 midnight EST ? Who goes to bed a 8 pm- even east coast shift work is generally 12-8, 8-4, 4-12 (I know)? It's not light until 7 so even farmers are up until 10 or 11? Why start it back up at 6 am Eastern time. I say don't stop the clock at all and put everyone at the same disadvantages. By the way BH I am originally from the First State so we have a starting point in common assuming your moniker is taken from the State or should I say downstate bird.

I changed my name to Blue Hen in honor of the state. What have you done? For those wondering, I haven't lived in Delaware in about 15 years.
In case you were wondering, Valkyrie's pick today wound up in the exact situation described above. The pick before was made at 7:15 AM and Valkyrie picked at 11:20. That's just over four hours, but I suspect that is rare. As long as people are leaving queues as much as possible, we should be in better shape.

3 Delawarians in one league although GO is a transplant and I haven't lived in Delaware or even on the east coast in many decades. I now live out here in LA like MikeV although I haven't seen him at the 3 am daily reopening for the draft yet. Delaware grows on me as I age- not sure if its memory playing tricks on me or if its just that my priorities are changing or a combination of both- On the draft note we have now fallen behind the RGIL. Let's try to get a move on it- at least drop the stop time altogether.

The season starts on March 31. We are currently projected to finish our draft on...March 31.
I think we should have a contingency plan already decided upon in the event that we need to quickly complete the draft before March 31. What do you guys think we should do? If we get to March 28 and we're still projected to finish on the day the season begins, shall we turn off the nightly pause and go to 3 hours/pick?

We were making up some ground before we hit what looks like an unfortunate 6 hr time out. I think that somehow we will find a way to get through the draft but I would suggest that if we reach 12 midnight March 29 and we still aren't done that we just finish off the round we are in and terminate the draft at that point- If people have to pick up their last 2-4 players off waivers so be it- it will be our penance for not being diligent during the draft.

In G20, GO picked at 8:43 this morning. Seven picks were queued up. Then Allhair picked at 9:43, and two more picks went in the next minute. One hour, ten picks.

Draft is complete, with one exception, and rosters are entered. Fosten, you can fill your roster spot from the free agent pool.

Damn, compared to the PCL and all their rationales we are quiet bunch! maybe we should set up a regular season trash talk thread at least. So BH can guarantee victory and we can all laugh at him Sept.
ohh!!!

Boy! Lester and Pujols really stink. If I had them I would find a sucker to unload them on asap. (I've taken the liberty of posting an e-mail address of just such a sucker for your convenience). Otherwise things are going fine. Vampire Weekend is in first and I am whittling a nice stake!

Nice 0 - 7 for my vaunted second baseman Mike Aviles today.

Yesterday really stunk! My hitters were 17 for 43 with 6 walks, 13 runs, 15 RBIs, and two steals. .469 and .814 with the rate stats.
Ok, ok, the pitching wasn't quite as great - 9.95 team ERA - but at least I got two saves!

BH, do you know why some players when dropped become immediately available and others aren't available for the prescribed 2 days. Check recent drops to see what I mean.

You have to keep them on your roster for 24 hours. Does that answer it?

Yes, thanks
I don't care for it because conceivably a player could be used by a different team every day.

So how many of these guys already quit paying attention? cause I've had like 5 trade offers out there since early this week and they just sit there... just reject them already if you don't like them, thats fine... but at least we know you are alive.
Or do people just miss them cause ESPN hides these offers and calls them "Pending Moves" for some reason.

Is there a screen to see the last time a manager made a move like Yahoo has?

I can't find anything like a 'last access date' even with the league manager tools. Sorry

offer for those looking for saves: Bobby Parnell, likely the new closer for the Mets, is available. would like a hitter in return as long as he is better than one of my current ones. I could even add one of my hitters into such a deal to get an ever better one.

I actually thought about benching some players to see if I could lose......it was a fleeting thought that lasted about 2 seconds.....I think I will just stay in first
