This thread is for your (optional) overall comments on the draft. You may use the questions below as a guide, or simply say what you want to say.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Non-managers are also free to post comments or ask questions

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

With the first pick in the draft and the strong OBP and SLG that comes with picking an Albert Pujols, I was determined to fill my MI slots early without sacrificing those percentages. I like Uggla and Jeter at 3.01 and 5.01. Also, I always do miserably in taking pitching far too early, so I was committed this year to waiting as long as possible before drafting any pitching. So after taking Jimenez at 4.14, I didn’t get my next starter until Oswalt at 8.14. I think I got good value with him too. He was pick 112 for me and he averaged 90th overall on Draftime.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

I am very, very happy with Pujols, because he enabled me to get the early MI’s that I wanted. But that was more of a luck pick since draft position is mostly random.

Otherwise, Grady Sizemore and Manny Ramirez at 14.14 and 15.01. It was not very long ago that these guys could have gone 1.14 and 2.01. At least one of these players should produce, and that alone should make these great value picks.

I also liked Oswalt very much in Round 8. I thought he should have gone two rounds earlier.

I hope I didn’t reach on Choo. Leading up to that second pick my mouth was watering looking at the available 2B and 3B. And then like dominoes Zimmerman, Cano, ARod, Pedrioa, Bautista and Hamilton come off the board, and I am shoved back into reality.

I struggled between Jeter and Rollins, and eventually went with Jeter knowing that if J-Roll were on my fantasy team he would lay another offensive egg. So, trusting karma I left him alone to have a monster year for someone else and my Phillies. Rollins went 3 picks later…

Papelbon could be a huge mistake. I keep thinking he is the guy from 3 years ago who was lights out. But he is inherently hittable now, so this could be a disaster.

I like David Hernandez in the last round. The news of Putz blowing up yet again was timely here. So if I can steal some saves in the last round that would be great.

I wonder if I had drafted Carlos Ruiz at 17.01 if Capps would have come back to me in the 18th? With Ianetta as my C I am sure I will be looking for another catcher by May. I think I messed that pick up.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

IHP always seems to have a tough team, and I think he has a solid offense.

Rev has great pitching, but did he pay too much of an offensive price to get it?

Wolfer looks like he has a good balanced team. Thanks for running the show here, btw.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I thought some players were taken much too early, but that is the case with most drafts I suppose. I must say though, that I have never seen someone draft a pitcher in each of his first 6 picks. I am curious to see how that strategy will play out.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

I don’t know. Picking on the end means you have to overreach sometimes because you know a player you want probably will not be available when the draft comes back to you. That being said, I think I would have drafted Ruiz in the 17th instead of Capps. Frankly, I am pretty happy with every position except catcher.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I like being at the ends, but am used to being at the back end. Presented with the rare opportunity, I went with pick #2 and figured I'd see what it's like to roll with Pujols or Hanley for once. From there, I planned to go hitting heavy in this league. I didn't follow through, and am kicking myself for some of the pitching choices I made.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

I loved Josh Johnson at #58, Sanchez at 167 and Murphy in the 24th round. I'd like to do over Werth in the 4th (Billy Butler instead) and F. Rodriguez in the 8th (Oswalt instead) and Carlos Lee in the 13th (anybody else).

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I can't ever tell, but KDogHall seems nicely balanced.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I couldn't believe I got Hamilton at Dunn in rounds 2 and 3. I kept having to remind myself that the difference between a 14 team and 16 team league kept explaining why folks were still available in later rounds.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Nope - I left the draft happy with my roster with the usual isolated regrets.
