0 Subject: Dirty Dozen Keepers 2012

Posted by: Great One
- [340592712] Fri, Mar 09, 2012, 15:57

Please post 7 keepers here (and leftovers if you want a chance of someone buying up your leftover guys).

Please also check them on the Yahoo website which we are testing out this year. But for any discrepancies we'll refer back to this as the official keeper declarations.

Please post by 11:59 PM on Monday 3/12/12 or they will be picked for you.
These will be entered into Kafenatid Tuesday and we'll start the draft with no timer for the first round and then go from there.

Emailed Astade and told him he has until I get all the keepers entered to get me a list or I'll pick for him. I expect to be done by noon.

Then I need to just make sure we've got all the draft pick trades rounded up and I can enter them. I'll turn the draft on but there won't be a clock or anything 1st round.

I believe that if the deadline is set for today that means we had until last night to get them done. Previously when it was set for monday you had until Sunday evening.

I havent set mine on yahoo because when I last checked it did not reflect my trade with Astade. That could have been updated by last night but by then the option wasnt there

I'll bump it out a few more days. But still weird that I was greyed out from changing my keepers this morning, then made the switch and now I can.

There are a bunch of draft pick trades on the Yahoo system we made using the trade utility. So I'm trying to sort that out and copy that over to Kafenatid.

2012 Offseason Pick Trades
DPR trades, Teix, CC + 3.03
Astade trades Miggy, 6.07

GO trades John Axford and his last round pick
Barilko trades 7th round pick.

IMO Bumgarner is clearly in leaving Ethier Wilson and Beachy as candidates. Wilson has the highest ADP on yahoo while Ethier has the higher preranking. Beachy is second on both. He already as 3 SPs so another may not be as helpful.

Wilson makes a lot sense, gives him a closer.
So to me in the last spot its Bumgarner vs. Beachy vs. Ethier. And since he's already got Kemp I probably look away from Ethier.

Btw when I was working through my trade with Astade he said that he was busy with work and was often slow to respond (several days) so most likely it is more of that, instead of something sinister come up.

That said what is the point of choosing his keepers? We cant get past pick 6 without him anyways.

I was looking at his team earlier. I never keep closers, but Astade kept Wilson for 2011 so it doesn't seem a stretch to keep him for astade again.

Between bumgarnder and ethier, bumgarner just makes more sense. Ethier is coming off a down year and ranked pretty low. Bum is young, still a lot of potential. I'd go wtih bum.

That said what is the point of choosing his keepers? We cant get past pick 6 without him anyways.

I for one would like to know who is available and which teams have which slots filled. Helps me with my draft strategy.

As there are already 3 pitchers, I would suggest the 2 hitters from the bottom list with the highest ADPs.

That said what is the point of choosing his keepers? We cant get past pick 6 without him anyways.
This begs the question of when to look for a new manager if we cannot contact Astade. Another option, albeit a difficult one, would be to pick a team for him to give him more time to make contact.

Astade has always been fairly unresponsive in every league I've been in. I've tried to bring it up in the past and seen wrath. I wouldn't mention it here except there seems to be support from other managers as well. I'd vote to replace him, personally.

Wazaap Guy asked me a while ago to get in this league. If that won't work for you guys, there are probably many others.

As for that team's keepers, pretty sure it's Bumgarner and Ethier, although I could give in to Wilson over Ethier.

This is a summary of what I figured out based on the Yahoo draft pick trades.
Barilko used "24th round" for one of them so just made that 17th (our true last round).

2011 in season trades
GO 5th for PD 15th
BH 7th for PD 9th
Barilko 4th for PD 17th (last)
DaBomb 4th for Pete 7th
Holt 4th for Pete 11th
Tree 9th for Pete 13th

2012 Offseason Pick Trades
DPR trades, Teix, CC + 3.03 for Astade trades Miggy, 6.07

Trades and keepers are entered on Kafenatid. I'm waiting a bit cause I guess I selected 19 rounds but we only need 17. Want to see if Fred can change that before I "Begin Draft".

Once that is squared away I'll turn it on but with no clock. Hopefully everyone can get a pick and get it rolling in the subsequent 24 hours and then we'll officially flip the clock on. Right now its just a 6 hour clock, does that sound right?

I'm sorry you feel that way Blue Hen. It's the first time I'm hearing it. I've been in the league since its inception and I'd like to stay. Don't worry your buddy WG already replaced me in RIBC.

PS if you are going to mention how I don't respond to your trade offers it's because they are lousy and not worth a response after you continually send garbage offers.

In all honesty, Astade, when I commished the league you would wear me out chasing you down to get signed up at yahoo and kafenatid/drafttime.

However, with that said, once you did sign up and we started the draft I don't remember any real problems. Active during the draft, no major delays and active participation and managing of your team from opening day until the end of September.

I definitely wouldn't vote to replace Astade now that he's popped in. History tells us all systems normal now and we should cruise along.

Hey GO,

Is it possible to have yahoo reflect players taken as keepers? I know you can input draft selections as we go. But if it can show who's taken as a keeper, it would make life really easy for sorting out who I want.

I think can do that once everyone gets their keepers checked off on Yahoo. But I don't seem to have a way to check who has or hasn't entered their keepers yet which is a flaw in this system (vs ESPN's setup).

BH, I had a really hard time letting Heyward go. As I was deciding I was reminded of looking over the draft results of the year before I joined and being shocked you got Upton with a mid/late first round pick. Granted he had just come off a big year but still someone that young with that much talent I was surprised to see available. I am sure you are hoping that this turns out the same for you.

To make a master que (use Pre-Rank) you need to put all the names in. So last month for all my drafts I qued up 300 names off an ESPN list to a Pre-Rank. It only took about 30 minutes cause you just need the first 3 letters and then hit enter. I can use this list across all drafts.

Importing a pre-rank is something Fred is working to add, we've discussed at length. Kind of a tricky situation cause he can't just blatantly steal a list off ESPN or Rotoworld or something like that. But then a default rank would seem like its his own kind of ranking and you don't want to imply to people these are how these guys should be ranked.

So midnight to 8 AM EST seems reasonable. Do we want a weekend pause too? I don't think its really necessary with a long 6 hour clock. I would hope we could all check a couple times even on the weekend.

GO, serious request here. Could you please just active the keepers and not worry about if everybody has them inputted? If you have a lot on your plate just give me co-commish for the draft and I'll gladly finish inputting them. But getting see the list of AVAILABLE players without having sort thru who's taken and who's not will be a BIG help.

Well great.
So I confirmed all the keepers so it would take them out of the player pool... but now that means I can't enter draft picks anymore.
We now all will have to add our own players.

I'm not sure its backwards, that's the way we have had to do it in G20 on ESPN and CBS previously... but I guess I had just hope it wouldn't be the case for some reason.

And we've never been able to sort in the player pool for a draft previously so I'm not sure why all of sudden we were trying to do it.

You can enter picks in as you go. You do 1 player at a time if you want. And as you add it they get removed from the 'available' pool.

I assumed it would let you do keepers first since traditionally they are declared pre-draft. Figured this was just one of those 'duh' things that even draft sites would realize and accomodate for. Guess I gave the sites too much credit. Don't see why Yahoo woulnd't let you put the keepers in, then still let you add players normally.

Looks like you either hit 'begin season' or 'begin season' was somehow tied to entering keepers (considering its yahoo, probably this).

I'm just going to wait until waivers clear on the 17th and then as I make picks jump into yahoo and pick up the player. If we can get everybody to do this, it will make keeping track of things really easy.

I hear ya, I guess it thinks when it applies the keepers to your team that all your draft picks are coming along with it at the same time.

So we'll just have to add them manually ourselves.

Pete is gonna pick around 7:30. I will wait on my pick for him should I come up.

I do use espn along with yahoo and another site to figure out approximate value of players. But I draft as often from work as from home. I don't want to carry around sheets and sheets of player lists every day between work/home and anywhere else I may be. Why should I when the info can be a button-press away.

We've had all weekend of fa pickups w/out affecting waiver wires. I just want to reiterate Holt's comment from earlier. Please go to Yahoo and pick your players up. Do it just like its in inseason since Yahoo's keeper input is apparently screwed up and our season has actually 'begun'.

It'll help GO's administrative duties and help all of us keep better track of who is where and available.

And remember we are done when Round 17 ends. For some reason Draftime wants us to add 2 more rounds. They did the same thing to the Poli draft so I'm not sure whats going on with that. We must have both read something the same way.

Please don't do any add/drops yet -- only add your players that are yours. On Friday I'll check all the rosters, add anyone who hasn't been added and will set the waiver priority. At that point will "turn the season on" and you can add/drop whoever you want.

As an added incentive to get all the players picked up onto manager's teams, tomorrow morning I will be crafting my Annual Barilko's Buzz, which will be a ranking of all the teams in the league.

So far those that will be included in the rank are:

Barilko6
DaBomb
GO
Khahan
Perm Dudes (Missing 1 player?)
Hoboken
HomeRunners
Peter N. (Missing 1 player?)
Jam Block
Astade
Holt

Blue Hen should take note that his team is the only one not in the group!

Also...when are waivers going to be run?

Alright...time for Barilko's Buzz! A chance to review the draft to see where everyone is at this point of the season.

Order listed is the order that teams appear on my Yahoo list, listing my own first.

Barilko6: Solid across the board in hitting, some definite weak starting pitching here. Decided to try a new strategy where I waited on starting pitching and looked for some undervalued guys later on in the draft. I will have to hit the WW throughout the season to bulk up the pitching, for sure. Jarrod Parker getting sent down just before I made my pick sucked. Guys who I wanted that were picked just a little bit before I could get them included Howie Kendrick, Anibal Sanchez, Francisco Liriano, Kelly Johnson, and Adam Dunn, but generally I was very happy with the guys left on the top of my queue when it was my turn to pick.

Great One: Keepers were a mix of established elites (Prince, Pedroia) and young up and comers (Lawrie, Castro, Harper, Posey). Filled out roster with a collection of sleepers from random websites in guys like Jansen, LeHair, Weeks, Bay, and Volquez, and then mixed in some guys coming off injury news like Hanson, Drew, Bay, and Tabata that were probably down in value because of it. I don't think I've ever seen GO use a pick so early on a closer, but Papelbon is definitely one of the top guys to have. Not a lot of home runs here, but that is probably the easiest stat to grab during the season, but GO will be hoping his young studs continue to improve, and we all know I will be cheering on Lawrie pretty strongly. Markakis was a great value pick in the 6th round, Mike Minor is dominating the spring box scores, and Carlos Lee is always severely undervalued in fantasy baseball.

Khahan: Some really great keepers with AGonz, Kinsler, Longoria, Haren and Gallardo. Not a big fan of Upton and Latos though. I think its just me, but I've never seen the huge upside that many see in Upton, and I think Latos away from Petco will become just an average guy. We shall see. Made some really good early picks here with Crawford, Shields, a couple closers, Hart and Duda. I like all of those pickups. Getting ESantana, KJohnson and Gaby Sanchez later was good value too I think. Good combination of power and speed here, and a very nice 1-2-3 SP punch with Haren, Gallardo, and Shields, providing Shields doesn't resort back to the Shields of old. The Myers pick looked a lot better before the Mets acquired Quintero, but not much you can fault with Myers in the 17th round.
Outside of AGonz, not too many guys that will help with AVG unless Crawford rebounds in a big way, and Longo and Kinsler bump up the ratios a little as well.

Blue Hen: If I could pick after Blue Hen every year, that would be ideal. Not only would that mean I beat him in the previous year, but also its great to follow someone who's picks come so quickly. Thanks BH! Returning Pujols is always a bonus, providing the league change doesn't hurt him as it has others in the past. (I don't think it will). Justin Upton is an elite talent, as is Cole Hamels. Not a huge fan of keeping Weeks, Wieters, and Youkilis. I am a fan of Daniel Hudson though. My concern about Weeks is that he's injury prone and losing a big bat behind him, and that he won't come close to matching last year's stats. Youkilis will be good if he can stay healthy all year. Heyward was a great pick in round 1, but Jesus Montero was a reach in round 2. Soria in round 5 was a huge blow here, but since our draft already started as late as you might want it to, there is not much that can be done. Getting Broxton later helps, although I think I would rather have Holland if given the choice. A good collection of closers here might also help alleviate the loss. Similar to Khahan, not too much help in the AVG. Later round picks of Brandon Belt and Mat Gamel could pay off, especially if Gamel can continue his hot bat during the season. Addison Reed, Bud Norris and Anibal Sanchez were also good value picks in my eyes.

Perm Dudes: I don't think I've ever seen a guy keep so many starting pitchers!!! 5! That being said, Strasburg, Wainwright, and Cain are great. Johnson, if he can come back, is also great. Ubaldo maybe not so great. Jeter isn't keeper worthy though, and Gordon is on the cusp. Getting Zobrist overall is a safe pick, although with this squad as it is I would have preferred to go with a huge upside guy like Heyward or even Crawford. But...some really nice picks follow with Morse, Mauer, Davis, Ichiro, and Ethier, and then some nice value on Prado, Scutaro, and Masterson. Managed to get a popular sleeper in McCarthy without reaching too high, and a nice late flyer on Soriano is worth the gamble. Not a huge fan of the closer group here, as both could be out of jobs before the end of April, but some very nice SP, and some guys coming off off seasons (Ichiro, JJOhnson, Ubaldo, Mauer, Ethier, Wainwright) means PD could be looking good this year.

Hoboken: I am hot and cold on the keepers here. I really like Ellsbury, Moore, Lee and Greinke, but can't see anything special in Utley, Rollins, or Hellickson. Between his injury risks and poor production, Utley isn't a top 2b anymore. I do think Rollins has a good chance to rebound though. Picking up Hunter Pence, Paul Goldschmidt, Ortiz and Street was a really nice start though, especially after drafting Cashner to handcuff Street. A huge change in ballparks should be a bonus for Street. Lots of SBs here and two really really nice late round value SPs in Zambrano and Niese. Another team with some great SP here.

Homerunners: Anytime you can have Miggy Cabrera as one of your keepers, its a good year. Adding in McCutchen, Hosmer, and King Felix is a bonus. Uggla, Santana, and Zimmerman are solid players, but with some warts attached. Asdrubal going 3rd overall was a shock for me, but following up with Wilson and Madson was pretty good. Picking Reynolds this early, considering there are already some holes on AVG was another surprising pick. I do like some value in Marcum, Farnsworth, Sale, Fister (even though many sites say he is due for regression), Bauer, Hill, and Adams. I wonder if there was too much value placed on guys having big years last year though. (Asdrubal, Melky, Fister, Francoeur, Aybar, Pagan, CJ Wilson, and even Madsen) If some of these guys repeat, or even come close to repeating, Homerunners will be looking good. I do think McCutchen is going to bounce back nicely though.

Pete N: Not a top set of keepers here, and this coming from someone who is really high on Scherzer this season. Butler is a budding superstar, hopefully Napoli can stay healthy and repeat, and he is in an contract year. Andrus is a poor man's Jose Reyes, which isn't a bad thing,
but there just isn't that one guy you would look at and say, yep, he's a stud keeper. Picking Pineda 2nd overall was a surprise for sure, but following that up with Freeman, Kendrick, and Romero was very solid. (Although I think Romero is in for some regression) I really like Freeman and Kendrick though. Got some good value in closers Walden and Marmol, and then again later with Bourjos who I think is going to be really good, provided the Angels don't rotate some of the playing time around. I also like Logan Morrison to turn things around, provided his bat doesn't get lost in his cavernous new stadium. EE was a favorite sleeper for some sites, but he always seems to start really slow and then end well, so we shall see here. Cueto, Chacin, and Teheran offer some good later round value. Bourgeois' trade to the Royals hurts his value, otherwise he would have been a great value too.

BombSquad: Returning two of the best pitchers in baseball as keepers is always awesome. Halladay and Verlander are just that, as they have a much more proven track record than some of the other contenders who are ranked just as high. Votto is a stud as well. If Reyes can play 130+ games, he too can be an elite option. Following that, ARod is the epitome of boom or bust, but sadly I think he falls closer to the bust side of things. Phillips offers consistent production from 2b, so you know what you are going to get, and Hamilton is another boom or bust candidate here. A very nice start to the draft with Victorino, Adam Jones (who I really like), Betancourt, Motte, and Myers. I do wonder if Betancourt and Myers are still closing come June though. I also wonder about Kendrys Morales in the 8th round. I know others liked the pick, but I just think its too early for a guy who hasn't played in 2 years. We shall see. Following that Bomber went with some guys who were awesome back in the day with Johan, Morneau, Bedard, Dunn, Rolen, Quentin, and combined with keepers like A-Rod, this team might have seen its best days already! Adding Garza to Halladay and Verlander was nice, and it seems like everyone has some nice SP except for me. I also like Boesch as good late round value. (And Dunn too, for where he went). Not so much for Kuroda who I think gets hurt by moving to New York.

Tree: Some nice keepers with Bautista, Hanley (who I think rebounds), Giancarlo, Jennings, and Beltre. Young is a solid option too, not a big fan of McCann. This was the anti DaBomb draft as Tree picked up every young potential guy out there! Darvish, Cespedes, Trout, Ackley, Cozart, Pestano, Fowler, Altuve...man there are way too many potential guys here for my liking, but if they pan out, watch out!!! I think Cespedes and Trout were taken too early, but Darvish, Ackley, Cozart, and Altuve were decent value. I also like Luebke this year, and I know I am not alone on that sleeper train. Rivera is a top closer, but unless Pestano unseats Perez, he might be a wasted pick that early. Jurrgens and Lewis offer some nice SP value as late as they went.

Astade: Missing in action at the start of the draft, but still manages to return some top notch keepers. Kemp and Cano are the elite of the elite. Weaver and CC offer a solid SP base. I am pretty high on Bumgarner as well. Not a big fan of Wilson, based on his arm troubles last year. Teix will be great if he can learn how to not try and pull every single pitch for a home run. This draft started out pretty great with Cruz, Beachy (who I thought should have been kept over Wilson, so it worked out), Storen, Bailey, Stubbs, Bonifacio, Beltran, Hardy, and Romo all great picks to start things out. Very nice. I'm not a huge Chapman guy, but he has potential I guess. Some nice late round value with Jackson, Helton, and Alonso. Alonso would be better if he was sans Petco. That's french for without. If Stubbs, Rios and Wilson can bounce back, and Storen, Bailey, Wilson and Cruz can stay healthy, this team will be good.

Holt: Some nice SP here with Lincecum and Kershaw. With the new fence line at Citi Field in play, Wright also becomes much better too. Granderson is a question mark though....if he can come close to repeating, he is a great keeper. Holliday is solid, Konerko has to break down sooner or later with age, but continues to be solid, and Cuddyer was a keeper only because he landed in Colorado. Lets see how that goes, but his position eligibility is a huge plus. If Kennedy can repeat, he is a great first pick for Holt. If. I think he does alright. Dee Gordon was a big reach in round 2, but based on team needs was an ok pick. Lots of nice picks here, but maybe a few too many sleepers in guys like Kipnis, Thronton, Liriano (who I like) and de Aza. Also maybe buying in on Avila at his peak. I like Beckett, Hanrahan, Balfour, and Martinez where Holt got them. I don't care for Francisco in the 5th round though.

Anyways, it was a fun draft, a good pace for the most part. If you can use any of my summaries to send me trade offers on guys I said that I liked, so be it!

Good luck to all!

My top 4: Barilko6, Khahan, DaBomb, Astade.

I dropped him back to FA for the time being. He is not on waivers cause any player add/drop same day doesn't go to waivers. So you should be all set to add him back starting at 12. Very nice read Barilko.
I had an interesting draft in that I took a lot of comeback player guys, or at least more than I usually do. Felt my team's structure allowed me to take some chances. I think I'll either win this league by 20 points or win it by a couple. No middle ground ;)

I entered the rosters into a program (drafttracker.net) which compiles projections from 11 sources and averages them for each player. I did some editing to peoples teams to have it reflect starting lineups moreso than full rosters as you can't play each player every day. I chose 6SP and 3RP from each team where possible. For teams that had empty roster spots I tried to leave an extra player from their team for ease (for example DaBomb has Rolen in his cather slot as I am sure he adds someone to get stats there). BH had only 5 SPs and 5 RPs(no soria) to account for it. I made other assumptions to, and didnt take notes as I did it. GO and PD only have 2 RP so this leaves them with a few less innings than other teams. The projections are not fully up to date as for example myers is considered a starter (a replaced him with soria on DaBombs team to account for the saves, although DaBmb has 4 closer and I only counted 3 RPs, no capps). I think this is enough disclaimers. I will post the results in the next post to make formatting easier for me

Sorry that looks kind of ugly, but I didnt know how to line it up on these forums. Think the numbers are clear.

I obviously am pretty happy with how my team stands in this rankings, especially considering I did not draft based on them. Over the years I do not feel I have proven myself to be an attentive enough in season manager, as others in this league have, so it will be interesting to see if I can keep up. Also interesting will be if GO can manage himself out of the early hole he seems to have put himself in.

Well my office got busy and I could not get back to the computer in time to pick up Cain. I also missed out on Marshall. Cain would have been nice because my hitting is so atrocious, but perhaps Niese will finally get it together and pitch like he did prior to his injury.

Barilko-Thanks for the overview--interesting reading. The other players I considered keeping were Howard, Goldschmidt and Papillbon. I erred in thinking that Utley would be back and should have dropped him instead of Howard; however coming back from an Achilles tear is tough. I did not keep Goldschmidt thinking I could get him back in the draft, and he would replace Howard. Hellickson may regress this year, but he should be very good going forward.

All in all, I think that the Zephyrs are in for a rough season.

Hmm...interesting. My top 4 picks, based on my own judgements, would be 2nd ,3rd, tied for 4th, and 6th...not bad!

My thoughts on my team line up pretty nicely with those projections too, as I thought my hitting was pretty great but my pitching fell a little short.

Thanks for posting that!

Ditto!

Last year I carried Wainwright and Strasberg all season to set up what I've got now. Hopefully this will come through for me.

I am likely to have to cast about for saves here and there on the waiver wire, but I'm pretty confident in the team this year. Last to first, baby!

I realized that I somehow swapped Lawrie and Hellickson between GO and Lokis teams. Hopefully I didnt make any other errors but this obviously opens the possibility. GO gains a few spots and hitting (I was shocked by those ones) while Loki drops back some. Unfortunately Barilko takes over the top spot.

Yeah, I now have 4 of the top 5 teams in my top 4. The only one left out was DPR, which I think can be attributed to one of the comments I put in my analysis, in that I think he got a lot of players after a peak season, and maybe my own thoughts have those guys regressing more than the projection program does, while maybe the program even has them improving on last year's improved stats, both of which are entirely possible.

Here are the players you mentioned with their ranking last year and well as the slot I drafted them.

Asdrubal 43 (87), Melky 24 (153), Fister 47 (183), Francoeur 50 (171), Aybar 110 (207), Pagan 164 (229), CJ Wilson 51 (99), and even Madsen 111 (124).

A good amount of regression is already calculated in. To me, the success of my team will be based on the boucebacks of my supposed studs, Felix, Zimm, and McCutchen. And as mentioned, in season management

I'm liking some of the new Yahoo tools. Clicking on the yellow news box for a player brings up a tab bar which includes league availability for a player in other yahoo leagues you might be in. So if a player you want to get is also available in another league you can see it right away.

Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Every year I play in only 2 leagues, Dirty Dozen and whichever RIBC league for which I qualify. And every year I either draft A.J. Burnett or pick him up as a free agent. And every year he burns me in the same way.Yesterday: 12 ERs in 2.2 innings, ERA of 40.50 and WHIP of 4.85. all of which resulted in negative 10.5 points.

GO, Trade Offer:
My entire team for Bryce Harper.
What I find most incredible about the Hammel-Harper incident was Harper's actions after he stole home and when he was interviewed after the game. He got up, dusted himself off and went right to the dugout. He did not turn around nor say anything to Hammel. Then after the game when he was interviewed,I am certain the reporters expected unprintable expletives from a 19 year old adolescent. However all he said when asked about Hammel was something to the effect: Good pitcher, great game. Harper will be fun to watch. can anyone say Roy Hobbs?

I think the rules prevent night-time moves on Yahoo, but I'm not sure. I think I successfully dropped Headley but it kept freezing up when trying to put Youk into the bench slot. I'll keep trying but I figured posting here was the best way to lay claim, especially in light of what happened in my RIBC league this week.

To me, laying claim can only be done 2 ways:

1) draft a player not in the database and keep a slot open (which this league has never allowed)

2) have the player on your roster

Thats about it. I was trying to make the changes last night about midnight. I've made changes at that time in the past.

Nobody should be locked at any point, we aren't doing same day transactions.

Do I need to add someone to somebody's roster? What are we looking for here?

I don't think we can blame the website if we are all making successful moves at the same time, no way to tell its not just BH's internet or computer that is screwing up. And if Yahoo was down, it would be down for all I'm sure - not singling out an individual user.

I have a handful of offers I'm going to be looking at this weekend. Sorry if this is kind of long letting these offers sit out there, but some offers are for the same players or offer me players from the same position. So I've been trying to evaluate trades in light of other trades.

Also one or two of you have emailed potential proposals. If you are serious, put something thru in a trade offer.

Just confirming the Lincecum - Nathan trade. Should be pretty obvious why we both made the trade. Lincecum has been a big part of my team ever since he entered the majors but he's destroyed my era and whip this season. There's a chance he'll snap out of it at some point (he's still getting K's and occasionally has a good game) but I don't have any more slots to devote to players who don't produce. BH/WG's team gets a potential SP keeper and gives up a closer who is most likely not keeper material.

Best of luck with Lincecum. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on and he turns things around.

What Holt said. Anyone else willing to trade potential keepers for closers?

Ok, the towel is officially in for this year. But I'm making a strong draft foundation for next year.

I've got a high draft pick for sale for a power hitting OF who won't destroy my AVG. Non-keeper fine.

Just need to document my recent traded draft picks to track them easier:

Khahan trades:
Evan Longoria and his round 8

Perm Dude trades:
Matt Cain and his round 6

--------------------------------

Khahan trades:
JJ Putz and his round 9

Barilko trades:
His round 4

I'm still in trade mode. I feel like I'm still looking an excellent list of keepers for next season so I wouldn't necessarily be looking for keepers unless I'm trading away keepers. Draft picks are always great for moving parts that can prop up stats for contenders.

I'd be keeping the likes of Adrian Gonzalez, Ian Kinsler, David Freese, maybe Brandon Moss or Corey Hart, Wade Miley, Jordan Zimmerman, Matt Cain, Yovani Gallardo, James Shields

I'm not big on keeping more than 3 SP so I'd be willing to trade one of them for a keeper quality OF. Not prospect type keeper, but established keeper quality.

Second half will really help solidify my keeper list for next season. So if you are struggling with starting pitcher and have a good OF keeper or SS, talk to me.

We should attempt to keep all pick trades in one running tally... has this been all as far as picks go? If not please add yours.

2013 Draft Pick Trades

Khahan trades Longoria/8th to PD for Cain/6th
Khahan trades Putz/9th to Barilko for 4th
GO trades 1st/Smoak to Pete for 13/Edwin
