myself and WG are co-commissioning a new keeper league.

14 teams
standard 5 x 5
25 man roster
15 keepers (5 must be pitchers)
10 man prospect list per team (can keep up to 10)

if interested, please post here and include your email....

I would have been interested in another league, but not too much of a fan of that many prospects being tied up at any given time. How set in stone is the 10 number?

meaning, how set in stone is my feeling on 10 prospects, or how set in stone is any one team holding on to 10 prospects?

one of the reasons i like a long a prospect list is that unlike other sports, it often takes a few years for players to develop.

in Football or basketball, there's always a couple impact players coming out of college.

in baseball, it's rare. there's usually some seasoning involved, and i like the idea of being able to hold some 18 year old out of high school, as well as some 23 year old about to make his mlb debut.

did that make sense?

I've been looking at getting back into a baseball keeper league since mine fell apart 2 years ago. If there's room, count me in.

Yep, makes perfect sense, and I would love to have prospects be part of rosters, but I just don't know about 10. Not even sure if I know 140 prospect eligible players!

I have some interest but I'd like some more information before I commit.

1. Auction or snake draft?
2. If snake draft, how is the draft order determined?
3. What site is this league playing at?
4. Where is the league drafting?
5. When will the draft be starting?

If I have interest after getting some of these answers I'll post my e-mail in a future post.

1. Snake draft for the first season, standard after that.

2. randomly

3. yahoo

4. draft time, most likely.

5. not quite certain yet.

Did you think about what I was suggesting for the prospect draft?

3 different points during the season. 3/4/3 rounds
Something to spice it up with that many prospects.

Seems like we're having difficulty filling the remaining 6 spots...

Hopefully some new managers appear. I'm looking forward to playing this type of league.

I was looking at this, but (like barilko), 10 prospects/team? This is a little too deep for my tastes, unfortunately!

Yeah, that's understandable, especially if you're not used to it. I've been playing multiple leagues for a couple years now with 10+ prospects so that part of it is easy for me.

I even played one league that was a 20-team league with 40 prospects on each roster so 10 seems like nothing to me. All you have to do is look up any top 100 list online and that will take care of 100 out of the 140 right there.

PD - 10 prospects deep, in a 14 team league, doesn't even cover the top 10 prospects per team in MLB.

from a relative stand point, it's not that many.

that being said, if it meant getting a few more owners, i'd have no issues reducing it to 7 per team.

Are you going to lean toward doing this league Tree?

Also on a different vein does Yahoo still have a limit of 4 teams per account? I haven't looked in 5 years or so.

Hey Punk, I couldn't find out exactly how many teams you could have... but I have 6 on one account, so at least that many.

that will give us 9.

3 more until i'm willing to do this league, 5 for it to be ideal.

i like how there are people in this league i know well, and people i don't know at all!

barring some last minute additions, unfortunately, i'm thinking this league isn't going to get off the ground... :o/
