I was looking forward to more people predicting how poorly I'll do with this wacky lineup... I'll go with 12th place! whoohoo!

One of the greatest features of RIBC is the retirement of the capricious "wins" category with the far more just "quality start". That really comes in handy when you have two great pitchers facing themselves like Sale and Shields today.
Wait just a minute...... :(

My team went 3/34. Thank goodness no one pitched. Woul date to see that line...

Feeling good about that Samardzija pick so far. Now Cole Hamels... he might just be on the trade block!

It was generally a day for pitchers yesterday. All of my teams had around a .200 OBP.

Holy Cow, I go away for the weekend to hang out with a bunch of naked women in hot tubs and I come back to find myself in first place. Damn, I've got to do that more often!

This season has quickly gone in the crapper. Reyes now out for who knows how long. Looks like I am still paying the fantasy gods for my win in 2011.

Damn Eric Wedge, why in the hell did you remove Iwakuma from the game after the 6th, he had thrown only 70 pitches!!!

I don't know if anyone still cares, but I finally completed my last remaining draft rationales. I tried to make up somewhat for the severe tardiness by really fleshing out my thought process for each pick. I'm also happy to answer any specific questions about anything that you feel wasn't covered in as much detail as you would have liked.

t,
I did notice you were posting some well thought out rationales. I enjoyed reading them. You have earned a GOLD STAR!!!
Thanks.

So, I'm thinking the Saint Louis fans really need to rally around their new savior, Edward Mujica, but maybe they are afraid they don't know how to properly pronounce his name. I'm envisioning a chant encouraged by the jumbotron going MOO - HE - KA! MOO - HE - KA! MOO - HE - KA! maybe with a crazy Maori warrior with a tattooed face chanting and then a bunch of them start a haka dance, get the crowd way into it kinda like the rally monkey in Anaheim ten years ago. The crazy fans will come to the park with their faces painted like the warriors with MOO - HE - KA! signs. How could Matheny possible want to replace him as the closer? I'm seeing 40 saves and the post season in his future.
Who wants to take up this project and start the chanting in Busch?

Nah. There wasn't a specific due date...so a gold star it is. Sometimes life gets in the way and that is okay!
I think there are two guys who still have not posted them -- need to check when I get upstairs...

In case you missed this:

I drafted Votto to be a hitter, not a walker... Hmm

Unless you are a bad ball hitter, Votto's approach is sound. The pitcher's are afraid to throw him a strike (with good reason). They're trying to get him to chase a bad pitch in hopes of popping out or rolling over a weak ground ball. He's looking for a pitch in the zone to square up and drive.
That's why his OBP is elite. Once the guys htting behind him start mashing, he'll get pitches to hit.
In my eyes, the Reds need to find a decent #2 hole guy and drop Cozart to 8th in the order.

What a day yesterday by the Magicians, +10 to get up to 134. Outside of saves, his team is nearly flawless. Hope this jinxes him :)

Hanley off the DL earlier than expected... for 3 whole games.

Geez, getting tired of papelbon all set for a save and the phillies score runs late to push difference past 3 R. I'll bet it has happened 3-4 times so far.

Looking for a MI, preferably a 2B.
All serious offers considered. Inquire within.

No bites on a closer, so I'll go with the Cub's dynamic MI combo for a bit.

F@&*ing $%!!!! &*%****!!! The Mariners on THREE occasions had a runner on third with one out today and all three times, double play. Hisashi's gem goes to waste as it is 0-0 in the ninth. Damn it! I HATE the wins category.

If anybody is interested, I'm looking for a 2 for 1 trade, preferably one where I lose an OF. There isn't any particular position or stat category I want in return: just looking for an upgrade somewhere.

I now have 9 guys left of the 25 I drafted. From rounds My first 6 round picks plus rounds 9, 15, and 20. I Have picked up some nice guys off FA though - Lackey, Loney, Nolasco, Chris Johnson. But obviously it's not enough.

On the day that Chris Sale coughs up four Perm Dudes for 8 ER, Joe Mauer and Nick Franklin are both injured. Man, that trade is paying dividends for everyone involved!

Woo Hoo! Very happy with second place. Congratulations to Milichian and his mighty Magicians.
I really wanted to make it to the Show and it was looking quite dicey just four days ago. I'm a rational man and I know that these last weeks count just as much as every other two weeks, but the end of the game has its own strategy and I was seriously outplayed by Wazzaup Guy. I view my second place finish much like I sucked out on the River.
In the past I have done a post season synopsis, but I am burnt. I did what I set out to do, I made one piss poor trade, I kept injured guys too long, Jayson Heyward had his best game of the year after breaking his jaw and after I cut his powerless ass. Yeah Coco Crisp and the Kuma, boo Aaron Hill. If my one boo is for Aaron Hill, I must have had a decent draft. Yeah me :)

Thanks SZ! I had a lot of fun this season. You, Wazaaap Guy and maspero really kept me on my toes until the last couple weeks. It was really fascinating to watch the battle for the other two promotion slots. Congratulations SZ and WG for edging out my friend mmikulka. Let's all kick some butt in the big league next year!
I'll probably add some sort of season recap tomorrow.

I went back to look at the draft and your first six picks were not great, Twilson, but after that your draft was just sick.
