PSFL & OIFL Leagues [combined thread]
Welcome back to Season 11 of the PSFL (AL-only), and season 5 of the OIFL (NL-only).
Defending Champs are –
AL-only ~ mjd
NL-only ~ darkside of the moon
All ten managers from last season have returned, and since they are the same in both leagues, we have decided to do something new this season. We will only hold one “pre-season draft-slot selection”. That selection will be for the AL-only. We will then reverse the selection for the NL draft.
So, if you take the #1 slot for AL, you get the #10 slot for NL. #7 slot in AL gets the #4 slot in NL. And so on. Not sure how this will change anyone’s strategy, but it should mix it up a little.
The draft will again be held at www.draftime.com . You should all be pre-registered. Go log in and check it out.
We have decided to skip the 2 NL-only games held in Australia on March 22, and begin the season with the March 30 games. Since this is a H2H league, the Kershaw owner just had too much of an advantage, with three (3) Kershaw starts in roto-week #1. Week 1 begins on Sunday March 30, but only a couple NL teams play.
Last year we started picking draft positions on Feb 27. Started the draft on March 4, and finished on March 15. The 2012 draft was also 11 days. If we follow a similar schedule, we will conclude the draft 2+ weeks before the first game is played.
I could use some input from managers. Do we want to hold the draft on a March 5-16 timeframe … or a March 12-23 timeframe??? The league would be activated at Yahoo approx 3/23 under either option.

I go out of town on March 20th for vacation and would love to be done by then. That said... I've slow drafted on vacation before and can do so again if necessary.

I prefer the earlier draft schedule. I will be on a golf vacation March 12-16. Also there are a two regular season games scheduled for March 22 & 23 in Australia between the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. We need to complete the draft by then if we want to include those games.

I am open to drafting either time. I slightly prefer the earlier time slot but for no particular reason worthy of mentioning. I'll be there either way.

TD, per Tosh's header, we will not be using those 2 early games in the NL-only.
Rotisserie leagues will want to use those games, but we chose not to in this H2H format.

REMEMBER: You are picking your draft slot for the AL-only league. We will reverse the final list for the NL-only.
I took the current team names as they appeared on my Yahoo page. I used the Random Integer Generator three times, and re-sorted each time.

We've had people speaking up for both time frames, and I am away from the computer this weekend ... so I'll meet in the middle and turn on the draft next Saturday nite, March 8. Approx 8pm Pacific. (Just don't expect timely picks from me on Sunday during the day.)

We've had an un-written rule that the last place team pays the draftime fees the following year. Last year's last place finishers were -
AL - ksoze & TD [tie]
NL - TD
(I did not realize until now that TD had such a rough season)
If you guys can take care of it via Paypal ... great! If not, please just let me know, and we'll take a different route. We just need to get it done by the end of round 3.

Guru mentioned in the RIBC thread that Draftime is down. The guy that runs the website is aware of it and working to fix it. Not sure how long it will be but just check in from time to time.

I will be away on a golf vacation Wed.-Sun. I am planning to leave queues a few times a day so I won't delay the draft. But if draftime is slow or not responding like it has been last couple of days, I may not be able to leave queues as often as I would like, and possibly delay the draft.

That's half the league, and mine (and presumidly, Tosh's) rosters are good to go, so I'm going to fire up the NL edition.
All non-drafted players are now subject to waver rules. The waver wire order is the inverse order of the draft.
Good luck to all. Thanks for a great draft. I think it went very well with the NL one round behind the AL. If you were up in one league, you were probably up in the other as well.

Rough year for me in the AL. I've never finished last before. But I've also never finished better than 4th in the NL, so I will relish my victory.
