Waivers are OFFICIALLY open. I had warned everyone that if anyone made a claim and drop before the opening, I will reverse. I reversed everything that had happened up to now.

We didn't do rationales, but should probably at least steal the recap format...

We can add it here if people like. The basic questions....

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Non-managers are also free to post comments or ask questions.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned? After getting the #2 pick I knew I couldn't try the all pitching strategy that I played around with last year. It was Miguel Cabrera or bust and set my season up and I'm just along for the ride. I then went about focusing on hitting and getting pitching late. I feel like I got the best 3B and also the best 2B in Kipnis (I predict for this season) so I'm pretty pleased with that. Posey was a bit of reach but reasonably could be top C so that gives me the 3 Tier 1 positions.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over? Loving Victor Martinez at the 191st pick -- was everyone just scared by the DH thing? He stats were lights out second half last year. Only problem is I have Cabrera AND Victor which I try to avoid. Think I did ok with my 10th roundish closers too, glad I didn't pay like last year with Motte.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)? I loved Philsfan first 6 picks til he went crazy with mid round Phillies.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
Those who kept timing out. And that most people waited on closers unlike your average league... was surprised which ones I could get and how late.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently? I might have waited a round or two on Xander Bogaerts... I just didn't want to lose a middle IF -- and useful flex of 3B/SS in this league + a guy who is ROY favorite.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
My strategy is pretty much always the same: best available in the first two rounds, #1 SP in round 3 or 4, and hunting positions after that. It was changed slightly with the first pick, meaning I wanted to take a SP in the 2/3 turn as opposed to the 4/5. My plan worked pretty well and I got some really nice value all up and down the draft.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?
I love the idea of having Mike Trout to lead my team. I took a risk with Jose Abreu, but I am excited to see what he can do. Chris Carter and Jose Veras were later round values, that 2-3 rounds earlier in the other leagues. I reached a bit on Middlebrooks, but I needed a solid 3B and I didn't want to get stuck with a guy in the next tier down. I kind of messed up my pitching staff in the back of the draft which is why I took a 6th starter in Morrow

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I haven't actually looked at the other teams yet.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
It was slow in spots, especially with a few managers. Closers were very spread out in the draft - usually they go in about 4 rounds 7-11, but in this draft the first one was taken at 4, and last at 15.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?
This is one of my better drafts - of course I have said that the last two years and finished 15th each time. I am worried about the back half of my pitching staff with Griffin, Hudson, and Morrow.

WG ran away with this league, but I am pleased to be in 2nd place, and the highest placed 'true' AA'er, for whatever that's worth. I felt like my offense was pretty crap all year, but in the end it was fine. I somehow lead the league in OBP with a .333! 6 years ago that would've been good for about 10th place. Losing Cabrera (expected 40 steals, got less than 20) and Romo (lost 17 saves to Casilla) were probably the difference between first and second, since my two lowest scores were steals and saves.

Looking forward to moving back up next year!
