I am thinking that we should start thinking about the draft. Why not start next Saturday. It normally takes us 10 days or so if I remember right. Guru can go ahead with the work on this.
We need to have the keepers posted by Thursday. Then I will do the work needed on ESPN for everyone's teams.

Last year, we drafted in 5 days. If we do that again, we'll be sitting on our rosters for 2 weeks waiting for the season to begin.
If that's OK with everyone, let's start on the 14th as Russell suggested (with an untimed clock on the weekend). If it's too early, I suggest starting on the 21st or 25th -- the 28th is probably cutting it too close
CAVEAT:
I will be offline all day Saturday the 21st AND all day Saturday the 28th.

This has always been a pretty fast draft. Jumpball is correct that we got through it in 5 days last year. Two years ago, it took 8 days.
The season doesn't start until April 5.
I'm OK with a Saturday start, but this obviously produces a long lag between the end of draft and the start of the season. It seems that we could wait an extra week without jeopardizing a late finish. I will mention that I'm going to be on the road from March 26-30, but should be able to keep up with the draft during that time frame.
The advantage of starting this week is that we get it finished and move on. The disadvantage is that we lose a week of (injury) information prior to drafting.
I'll leave it to Russ to set the date, because voting on anything in this league is always problematic. Perhaps, given my travel plans and Jumpball's outage on March 21, we should just push ahead.

I think we should go ahead for next Monday. Maybe that is a better day. I am traveling to Asia Saturday so I myself will be out of touch.

Before the Draft on Draftime I will try to go ahead and put the keepers on each team and start the "offline" draft on ESPN. After this you should be able to tell the players available and once you draft on Draftime you should be able to do the same on ESPN.

Russ - I don't think that's correct. If you put the draft in "offline draft" mode, we can't tell what's going on at ESPN. Typically, we close out the draft on ESPN (after keepers are processed), and then ask each manager to pick up their own players during the draft as free agent pickups.

Is league approval required to make draft pick trades during the draft ?
For example, let's say that during the draft I want to move up so I offer picks 86 and 96 to Russ for his 83 and 103.
Is this within our league rules? Does the trade need league approval? If so, how would that be done?

In order to keep things moving, no approval should be needed - unless a trade looks completely wacko, which I would not expect in this league.
In addition to posting it here, please email me if there is a trade, so that I can book it in Draftime as soon as possible.

I have draftime all set, but I don't want to push the start button until the ESPN site is ready. Keepers still need to be processed, and then the league needs to go into post-draft mode so that we can begin picking up drafted players. Even then we'll have to wait until all players clear waivers before anyone but a commish can make player adds.

With the tools I have by being league manager, I just went into the league at ESPN and set all the keepers based upon the above. Some teams had not done this but now it is OK.
What I can do is the add the players for each team as they draft so that everyone can see which players are available. I suggest that I go ahead and start things on ESPN by starting the offline draft. Should any trades already have been made I can change around the players.
If Guru agrees he can start us up on Draftime and I will also start the draft on ESPN.

The original 4 keepers per team are processed on ESPN. Once you have drafted on Draftime it will be good for everyone to also add the player drafted on ESPN.
But I will try to keep up on ESPN and add the keepers to each team once drafted.

Draftime crashed around 10:30pm ET last night, was was restored around 6:30am this morning. There is no evidence that any data was lost. However, since managers may have been unable to set up (or update) queues overnight, I have turned off the clock, and will leave it off until we have completed another round.

I see that the other league manager (I think it is Guru) has done a lot of work and put the drafted players on the right teams. THANKS.

I did do some cleanup on ESPN over the weekend. But I've got two other drafts in full swing at the moment, and I'm barely able to keep my own roster up to speed.
Looks like our draft may end today, or tomorrow at the latest. I'll let Russ rule on when to begin to allow free agent add/drop transactions on ESPN. We'd certainly first want to confirm that all rosters are fully loaded.

Today is Tuesday. By tomorrow we should be finished with the Draftime draft. I will try to look at the Rosters and make sure all players recently added are on the right rosters. But it would be good for everyone to check their own team at ESPN.
Then Saturday I will start the league officially and allow free agent add/drop transactions.
But everyone please check their teams. If anyone has a player that they should not have post this here and I can add or drop them for you.
