Invites to both the league and drafttime have been sent out to the 15 confirmed mangers. If you did not get the invite, let me know and I will resend. Guru will let us know who the 16th will be.

I'm signed up for both also! Looking forward to it, though I'm disappointed the big league was so resistant to changing the draft order draft format.

Wolfer, any chance you can change the Draftime draft name to specify 2015? It would help differentiate from prior years in the archive.

I'm pretty sure Matt G taking Kolton Wong as his second player broke drafttime. Whaaaaa?

Draft started Monday, it's now Thursday and I have two players. Unplug the cord from the back of drafttime and plug it back in, let's get going.
47Rob
      ID: 57212920

I was shocked at Wong too. Check queus often!

When (if?) drafttime restarts, could the clock be paused or reset for the last person picking? It's not me. I'm afraid drafttime will skip picks because of all the time lost, and there will be a mad scramble to get picks in before other managers realize drafttime is back up. The advantage is to owners who have time to refresh drafttime during the day.

Sorry I made the Wong pick... get it?

I have a theory behind that, part of it is he was the last of a 5 man queue I put in thinking, "no way it will get to this."

Oh well.

I would support a shorter clock. There are only two managers that change would affect - putts4/ Better off Red and WG/airallnight. Neither of them have used the auto queue even once. The two of them are responsible for about half of the expired clock so far.

What I don't understand is why putts4 needs another four hours to make his second pick. Four players leave the board around the turn, can't you come up with a five player queue? At this point of the draft, even a one player auto pick queue would probably work.

Strongly urge the shortening of the clock. I foresee another long delay today just from putts4 and airallnight. Neither of them ever say anything in this thread, there is no explanation as to why they never use the auto pick or why they need to take so long in between picks. Judy's AA league will be done before the weekend. We are looking at taking all of next week at this pace.

If putts4 is skipped on the way up, shouldn't he be skipped again if he comes up again and hasn't checked? Do we really want to wait 4 more hours to continue moving?

Admins are able to skip people in Draftime.

Putts has used 41 hours of clock, or 3:25 per pick, which is more than an hour more than the 2nd worst guy, per pick. He has zero picks from queues.

Maybe something came up this week and kept him busy, but I'd say skipping this pick is letting him off easy.

Rosters are entered. There are two place holders.

Obudel Herrera was not in the ESPN database, so vampire weekend has Javier Herrera as a placeholder.

Hector Olivera was not in the database, so Matt G has Andy oliver.

Those two get to pick a replacement before waivers start. Please also check rosters for accuracy.

Can we wait till those guys are added? Or do we have to pick a replacement ?

Once they are added, do the drafting managers get first dibs (assuming they keep the placeholders on their team), or will they be put into the standard waivers pool.

Can't remember what the official rules are, I thought I recalled something about not being able to draft anyone that was not in the ESPN player pool.

Could be wrong I suppose, but I don't recall that with these leagues the player already had to be in the database. I will just wait until he is added vs getting someone else now.

The original RIBC had a rule that you could hold the placeholder as long as you want, and had rights to the player when added.

I think that's a safe thing to do here; however, I wouldn't let it be Andy Oliver, since he might actually accrue stats. Let's use Luis Oliveros, Seattle catcher, instead. Or Derek Jeter.

The people of Minnesota owe the entire Santana family a huge apology. This nice, sweet young man, Ervin, is swayed into moving from lovable Atlanta by your promises of riches and a designated hitter. Then, upon arrival, you abandon him to the mean streets of the Twin Cities where nefarious ne'erdowells feast upon his innocence and get him hooked on, oh, it hurts to even say it, stanozolol, a drug of enhanced performance.

Poor Ervin didn't stand a chance, shame on you Land of 10,000 Lakers.

How was the initial waiver order developed? Is it randomized?

jdrenbarger ended up with Ian Kennedy over me and presumably others, which doesn't make any sense if it was based on either reverse standings (jdrenbarger would have been 14th) reverse draft slot choice (would have been 11th), or reverse draft order (12th).

Should be reverse of draft slot choice, but ESPN kept changing the order in AA. I'd put it in, and go back and it would be different, I'd put in in, then see the change. Etc until it finally stuck...

I concur with mmikulka that the waiver order as currently displayed is incorrect.

Is there a way we can fix it? This has already impacted at least one waiver claim, as mmikulka or someone else missed out on Kennedy despite what should have been top priority.

Agreed. We should reset the order and/or reassign Kennedy.

Anyone looking to deal? I am in need of some slugging, and can offer speed (Christian Yelich? Elvis Andrus? Desmond Jennings?) and pitching (Sonny Gray? Yordano Ventura?).

Let me know if you have something.

Four of my first nine picks, five of my first twelve, are on the DL. Fifteenth place and May is about to start, does not bode well.

Aroldis Chapman is now on the market, looking for top 50 bat in exchange.

Two months without a post, that's about as bad as my team.

One of my few bright spots just breaks his leg, this year is hopeless. Maybe if I trade away those guys who are left, they can stink it up for some other team.

"Four of my first nine picks, five of my first twelve, are on the DL. Fifteenth place and May is about to start, does not bode well."

Try having your picks in rounds 1, 2, 3 and 6 all on the DL ... with your round 4 pick only recently off of it and your round 5 pick perhaps the biggest underperformer of the year to date. That certainly doesn't bode well at all ... sigh ... :)

I guess I should post. I am, after all, winning.

Most of my success has hinged on my first two picks, who are also #1 and #2 on most player raters - Goldschmidt and Harper. Similar to how I won in 2012 with Trout and Cabrera.

But many of my late rounders are working out pretty well. Billy Burns, Yasmany Tomas, and Chris Carter have exceeded expectations, and Randal Grichuk has helped as well.

On the pitching side, I waited on SP, and wound up with Sonny Gray and Dan Haren, who have both been pretty great, and fell into Noah Syndergaard and Brett Anderson, who have also been good. My relief corps has been great, with Cody Allen, David Robertson, and AJ Ramos. Probably should have held onto Roberto Osuna.

All told, it's just enough. Here's hoping I have the 2nd half horses to finish off the win, or at least qualify for RIBC, which is the goal of every AAA manager.

GO, the top three teams in each AAA league are guaranteed promotion. It is also possible for the 4th place team to be promoted, depending on strength of performance and Guru's discretion.

Berths in the 2016 RIBC are as follows:

From 2015 results
RIBC: Top 6 teams + Guru
AAA ESPN: Top 3 teams
AAA Yahoo: Top 3 teams
AA: Winner

That leaves two more berths for wildcards, most likely AAA 4th or RIBC 7th/8th.

Whoa, I'm dizzy way up here so high in the standings ;)

This has been the worst season I've ever had in fantasy baseball. I had a horrendous draft and no amount of trades and active management has been enough to get out of the cellar. It's a testament to all the owners in this league that no one has given up the ship. Y'all are a dedicated, excellent bunch of players.

This season has been so bad for me that back in August I spent two to three hours drafting a round-by-round autopsy of my disastrous draft only to lose it because I didn't save it. I didn't think that was still possible! I've gone from RIBC to AAA to AA in just two seasons, pretty humiliating. I'm blaming it on Rotowire, HA! I've paid them money for too many years in a row, time to try a different approach.

Congrats to the eventual champ and all those who will be promoted. No one got off easy this season. SZ

Looks like Chiou takes it by 1 point! Congrats. My closest categories were ERA and WHIP, both less than point. Wish I'd chosen one more good start during the year. But Chiou managed quite well and definitely earned it. He had a full team of achievers, I just rode Bryce and Goldie as far as I could.

2016 will be my 3rd in RIBC Majors (2004 and 2013, with the rest in AAA). Both seasons, my teams tanked, so hoping to avoid that trend.

Thanks all for a great season, except WG of course. I do have to give WG credit for turning down my Syndergaard for Papelbon offer. Syndergaard turned out to be better, and I still won saves by a lot.

Once Trout hurt his wrist my team tanked, I couldn't beat anyone to the market for saves and ended up throwing out middle relievers hoping to steal one here or there also couldn't get enough Ks. I'm "happy" with my 6th place finish, I think if trout stays healthy to prop up my batting stats I'd have been able to make some more pitching moves. Held on to Vogt too long, should have sold high, and I held on to Myers for too long through his injury. He was so good before he got hurt.

You really have to hit on EVERY pick in this league, I felt REALLY good about my draft, Vogt, Machado, Trout, Cole, Bumgarner, Frazier and even Bruce at times.

Looking forward to AAA again next year, I think this is the first time I didn't get the immediate demotion after a promotion...

Congrats to Chiou - anyone beating BH is ok in my book!

I felt like I was in position to make a push at least into the top 3 back in June or so and then Giancarlo happened. It didn't really hurt my hitting all that much, but I wasn't able to trade a bat for a pitcher like I would have. Instead I just pieced it together with randoms with nothing anybody would want for a stud pitcher. Pleased to still finish 4th. Maybe i'll get the wild card invite.

This is probably my first champ at any RI?C leagues. Kind of lucky I guess; no major injury to my team (Alex Cobb?); Greinke, Bautista, and Pollock all have fantastic season even Pujols and Braun remain productive; could have done better if not choosing Pujols over Arenado though the future HOFer actually came out of nowhere to have another 40-HR season; regardless, thanks everyone---I do have a very exciting and wonderful baseball season.

Let me add my congratulations to Chiou – BH, too – for really excellent seasons. This is now the only fantasy league I’m a part of after years of being a lot more active, and I only stay in this one because of the level of competition and the active involvement of all of the owners. I thank all of you for that.

The top three, after a really strong start, was out of the question for me when my first two picks (Cabrera, Springer) hit the DL together in early July … for most of July, in fact, all four bench slots were filled with hitters I’d drafted in the first ten rounds (1-6, 10). Of the seven hitters I drafted in the first ten rounds, only one (Matt Kemp – go figure) played more than 120 games; a couple of those (V Mart, Ellsbury) played miserably in almost all they did play, and R Zimmerman only finally picked it up at the very end … before again going on the DL.

Any chance at fourth (and a prayer of a chance of moving up) ended when I whiffed on picking up Wilhelmsen as my third Seattle closer of the year … my saves dried up immediately after the trading deadline with Perkins (finally) getting hurt and C Smith, following Rodney, getting the hook. Wilhelmsen’s 11 saves from that point, all other things being equal (and they of course never are), would have given me enough points to finish fourth.

So I count myself very lucky to have finished fifth – Arrieta, (first-half) Kazmir and (second-half) Jaime Garcia all pitched well enough to offset the effects of my annual fascination with Anibal Sanchez (and, to lesser degrees, C Tillman and I Kennedy (who I always had at the wrong time)). Markakis and, in particular, Brandon Phillips were way better than where I drafted them … but I bailed way too early on late round picks of Plouffe, Leake, Gose, and J Nelson.
