I have only found one trade announcement impacting the 2018 Draft. I have found no other trades since the close of the 2017 season. From 2017 Thread #261:
Trade Announcement Nerve trades Carlos Carrasco, Andrew Benintendi and his 3rd round pick to Bariklo for Mookie Betts and his 6th round pick.
If you have others please post here.

Here is the prospect list following the 2017 draft. If any of these players were traded during the season please post here. I will post the prospect eligible list when I am certain I have the list below assigned to the right owner. I did notice that my list has 6 assigned to Taxman and only 4 to WG.

I believe Kopech is mine. From last year’s P draft thread it looks like Meat posted for me and maybe that led to confusion.
Don’t think Puk is mine though. Think my 5th was Aaron Judge.

Meanwhile if you don't agree with Barilko's list, please let me know ASAP.
Barilko has renewed the league at Yahoo, so you can check your final roster from last year now.
I will propose some key dates later today.

As for Ohtani...my thoughts are that I should be able to keep Ohtani as a non-defined prospect until I call him up or he passes his limits.
But...If I call him up as a pitcher, I also have to call him up as a hitter, or give up his rights as a hitter. (And vice versa)
That would fit within the logistics of what Yahoo can provide for us, and reward managers who take chances on future players who are eligible at multiple positions. (There are a couple more that are coming.)
This would also allow for us to not have to revisit this type of scenario should Yahoo make what I see as the inevitable change to their platform regarding these types of players in the future.

On that note, I'm still dangling Donaldson or Rendon if anyone wants a good keeper at 3B. I'm not really interested in trading one for a pick, so it would be a keeper for keeper swap, with picks included if it needs to be balanced out.

Still undecided about my keepers. My top 5 are:
Charlie Blackmon George Springer Jose Abreu Robinson Cano Jean Segura
Those five will require a great offer. Others I am considering, but can only keep two:
Justin Smoak Adam Jones Jake Lamb Chris Taylor Zack Godley Robert Osuna Mike Clevinger Greg Bird Jameson Taillon
This group can be had for a mid round pick.
Any others you may want can be had for a late round pick.

<23>Just catching up on the Otani issue. I have a proposal that I think is better for you than what you suggest barilko. Hopefully nobody objects.
Since Otani is a prospect this year, and prospects may be called up and sent down as often as you like, I see no reason to not allow you to stream Otani the pitcher and Otani the hitter to the extent that Yahoo will allow you.
The real issue for Otani, for this league, comes next year when he is no longer a prospect. If Yahoo is still unable to give you him as one player, you'll have to roster him using two slots. I suppose we can count him as just one keeper from that point on, unless you drop one of his two instances from your roster.
If, for example, you drop the hitter but not the pitcher, you no longer have the rights to the hitter coupled with the pitcher. Even if you subsequently reacquire the hitter, he will be considered a separate player for the purposes of keepers and roster slots.
Only complexity I can forsee is that if you dropped the hitter, someone else picks him up, then Yahoo changes so hitter and pitcher are now coupled. Who has the rights? Simple solution, who ever had their player the longest gets rights to both. That should cover any trade scenarios.
Ok if you follow my logic, anybody not comfortable with this approach? Need clarification?

Headed up to Denver for the Cavs @ Nuggets game tonight. I'll be the old guy in the Cavs T-shirt if you are watching on TV.
Tomorrow I'll start to review your submissions to make sure there are no irregularities. If I find an issue I will try to e-mail you. Friday I will try to put out a draft order and start the prospect draft. You can make your picks then, but I won't break out the cattle prod until Saturday morning after I drink some coffee.
Prospect draft usually takes 3-6 days. I'll need a day to prep Draft Time when its done, then I'll start the Regular draft. First round untimed, play it by ear after that.

If anyone wants to make a last minute deal, Robbie Ray, SP and Ian Happ, 2B/OF are available for a reasonable pick upgrade. Ray in particular is ranked #47 overall by Yahoo (finished #35 last season).
Also still open to swapping Donaldson or Rendon for an equal level middle infielder, although I will acknowledge that deal hasn't manifested itself since I first mentioned it. Looking forward to another fun season!

I completely understand the rule that changes don't take effect until the next year when they effect your roster and keepers. So agreed that the new categories should not take effect until next season.
The prospect roster from 5 to 8 was near unanimous and doesn't effect rosters and keepers however, so can we agree that we will go from 5 to 8 this year?

Was planning to wait until next year for all of these changes.
I think time has run out to put this to a vote, especially when you consider that if we agree it goes in this year, the prospect draft will double in length and we will need at least two more days.

I am not just blowing you off Nerve, there are people who may have cut prospects already based on the old rule being in effect. It's simply too late without throwing the whole schedule out of whack. You should have spoke up earlier, little more i can say.

OK, so unless someone has a transaction before the deadline or changes their mind about their keepers, we're all set.
I found no irregularities in peoples listed keepers, and I have, in fact, loaded all of them including the prospects into Yahoo. Though your roster still shows last year's team, if you do searches in Players Tab you should see the players assigned to their current team and non-keepers will be listed as Free Agents. If you do a search on just Keepers you should see prospect keepers assigned to their correct team too. Take a look it may help you with draft planning.
Some time tomorrow I will start a prospect draft thread. It will include alphabetic lists of players that are already rostered, and it will also provide you with a complete prospect draft order showing every pick.
If you are up in the prospect draft you can make your pick if you like. However, I wont be monitoring draft progress until Saturday morning. I have an e-mail for all of you, just not sure if its the best one to reach you at. Anyway if I see someone spending too much time on their pick, I'll try to send an e-mail reminder. There is no hard fast rule in that regard. If you know you are going to be out of the loop for an extended time, please let us know. It might be good to allow someone you trust to pick for you in some situaions.
Finally, thanks for your patience and cooperation in getting this season launched.

Just a heads up. When I communicated with Perm Dude about the trade in <67>, he said he was out of town until Sunday. I then asked him if it would affect his ability to draft today and he did not reply.
In another league he apparently is not doing any drafting today.
Bottom line is I simply do not have any definitive info to give you, but he may not be making his first pick for awhile.

Yeah, so we are doing truly awful with this prospect draft. We have 41 picks to make, and so far we have made two in about seven hours. At this pace we can expect to finish in 10 days, which simply isn't gonna cut it. I've sent an e-mail to Taxman, but that isn't helping.
If you are in the US and you would like a text message when you are on deck or it's your pick, send me a text at 719-638-0337 identifying yourself. I'll try to keep you up to date.

Everyone I work with in Dubai uses it, all my customers and partners. The reason I mentioned it is you said you would text people in the USA. Well What's app is worldwide and free of charge. (I think it costs $1 to download it). It works over the internet rather then through cell towers. It's pretty amazing.
Well worth having even for a luddite.

Sorry to hold things up. Perfectly synchronized with movie and sleep.
I don't have access to rotoguru at work, which explains why I completely missed the rule stuff.
I will also be out of town most of next week. Given lack of rotoguru access at work, that might be a good thing, but it will include two actual human-contact drafts, as well as two long train rides in the boonies, with little to no cell or internet.
If all those things sound like I'm gonna slow things down... well I might. I apologize in advance, but I'll do my best to keep things moving with queues and such, when time permits.
I'm not going to use qs the first 2 rounds, but will after that. Hopefully the first 2 rounds are soon.
Feel free to chuck me if there is a manager waiting in the wings chomping at the bit to play this league. Happy to step aside.

<81> First, nobody is waiting in the wings to replace you.
Second, I am inclined to think we will start the draft on a weekday this upcoming week. Whether that's Wednesday, Thursday or Friday we shall see. Above you will see that I was targeting Wednesday.
When we get closer to knowing when we can start the Draft Time draft, we'll figure out what all of this means. Hopefully even without internet, you will have text capability or voice cell phone service. If so, I can help you with the early draft. Meanwhile, put together some kind of cheat sheet for yourself.

Whatsapp is like, so 2014. When they were assimilated by The Borg. Er, facebook. It's all about Discord for things like this now. Hosting truly private servers. Don't sell your soul and your credit score for nothing other than a crapapp.
Honestly, I am having app fatigue. People can contact me in like 40 different ways, and I only really want to check 2 anymore, my phone (if I know the number of the caller) and I usually answer when someone knocks on the door.

C1-NRB just texted me his alternate pick if Goatlocker wants Greinke. So, we should be back in business once Goatlocker gives me his pick.
If anyone can contact Goatlocker, please let him know. I have already sent him e-mail via yahoo league.

So after the draft last year Bili complained there was nothing but garbage the last two rounds.
I went back and looked for the fun of it in order they were drafted last two rounds. (Only posting the good ones, as Bili surmised most were garbage…but...)

Draft Status Report I just entered all draft picks through 4.05 into your Yahoo rosters. You can double check them on the draft results page. The Yahoo players tab should reflect the removal of anyone drafted up to 4.05.
As to the pace, I am not inclined to impose a clock yet. If we start to have issues, I'll move to the first stage clock. This stage is to set an eight hour clock always on. It should allow EVERYONE to set a queue before they go to bed and reset it before they go to work in the morning, no matter what time zone they are in. Again, not ready to do that yet.
Happy St Patty's day

I owned your ultimate example, Charlie Morton. He was on my final roster.
Do you really think I drafted Charlie Frickin' Morton?
If I didn't, my statement rings truer truer than fine crystal plinked with a sugar spoon.
And I didn't.
Dude was cut early and often, I'm sure.

I think my words were waiver fodder, not garbage, or at least that's what I was thinking. And that's demonstrably true, for even the best and most cherry-picked example. He was worse than league average when cut.

And y'all want to expand the prospect draft, and I think we expanded the benches recently too. The cupboard is more than bare in the free-agent kitchen now. It's pretty much "draft well, or wait 'til next year" in this league now. Boring.

Half the league didn't make more than 30 move all year. Two in the single digits. And I believe that's considering an add and a drop as 2 moves. Just shove your slow tanker out to sea, and check back in 6 months and see if it reached port in Dubai.

They were the teams with top notch keepers and decent drafts, so it was worth it for them to waste time churning waiver fodder for innings and extra ABs. Everyone else was out of it by may.

Rather than have an 8 round prospect draft next March, we should look at breaking it up into two mini 4 rounders with the first one happening just after the Major League draft in June or July.

re: 171
Interesting idea.
That is based much more on prospecting for certain than perhaps other rankings.
It would/could create additional wrinkles if a draftee does not sign with their drafting team by the signing deadline.

Draft Status Report
I just entered all draft picks through 8.04 into your Yahoo rosters. You can double check them on the draft results page. The Yahoo players tab should reflect the removal of anyone drafted up to 8.04.
As to the pace, yesterday did not go well, but projected finish is Mar 25, 2018, 9:25 pm, which I am comfortable with. Therefore, I will continue the draft with no clock for a bit longer.
Just so everyone understands how I view delays. If the draft is held up for more than four hours during your time zone's 8AM-10PM, AND you didn't leave a Queue at 8AM and 5PM, then you are creating a problem that could have been avoided. If you work something other than banker's hours, let me know so I can adjust my thought process.

So, I have started the season, you can set your lineups but cannot trade/add/drop yet. All players thru K. Ruiz are entered and I will try to keep up with draft as it finishes up.
Take some time to check your rosters and let me know if I messed up. Also, check all of your prospects to ensure they have a "K" next to their name in the players tab. It's too late to fix it if no "K", but we can at least annotate it, so let me know if I missed one.

OK, draft is done, players are entered, you have rights to add/drop/trade now, and players come off waivers tomorrow.
Let me know ASAP if you find a mistake with your roster, or dont find a "K" next your prospect.
I'll be starting a new thread soon for Regular season.
Game on!
