Managers: This thread is for your (optional) overall comments on the draft. You may use the questions below to structure your comments, or simply say what you want to say.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

2. What were your favourite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

My only real strategy was to try and take "safer" players early and take some upside "fliers" later in the draft. In years past I've jumped in early on rookies and injury risks and suffered when they didn't pan out, so hoped to play it a bit safe. Of course, a mere hours after my last pick, Bumgarner takes a fluke line drive off the hand and is out for a while... go figure. Other than Bumgarner, we'll have to see if my "safe" picks of Votto, Rendon, Kris Davis, and the like pan out over riskier (but more upside) options that may have been on the board.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

In retrospect I wish I could have the Bumgarner pick over, but only because of his fluky spring training injury. I liked the pick at the time. I'd have liked to fill my MI earlier, and ended up with a combo of Wong and Lowrie. Given that my starting 2B is Merrifield, there's considerable risk in that spot. Other than that I'm pretty happy with how things went. I think my team is pretty balanced. Not sure I'm going to win any of the categories, but with a nice combo of power (Votto, K. Davis, Dickerson, etc...) and speed (Merrifield, Eaton, Arcia, Wong, etc..) I think I should be able to compete towards the top of the standings. Also, if Claudio can hold down the closer job in Texas, and either Archie Bradley or Brad Boxberger get the job in AZ, I should compete for the most saves.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I haven't given many teams a full once over yet, but Taxman seemed to consistently nab players I had my eyes on (Dozier, Syndegaard, Gattis, Roark, and Granderson to name a few).

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I think the draft went pretty by the books. Elite power went early on, first round of pitching went late 1 through early 3, closers started flying around the 6th round... no real surprises.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Not take Bumgarner! I had debated between Bumgarner and Syndergaard, and so far it looks like I chose wrong. As a die hard Mets fan, I'd love for Thor to make me look stupid on that one!

I may not of played fantasy baseball in over a dozen years, but I've kept up in playing in RotoGuru football and some hockey leagues during that time.
That said, I knew coming into this draft, that it would be very difficult to follow a strict plan. So my plan was mainly to be flexible... to take a couple solid SPs early, and then and make sure that I got my targeted relievers earlier than ADP. I didn't necessarily want to punt SBs, but by the 5th round, it wasn't looking like it would be easy to be super competitive in that category.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

@169 Inciarte
@248 Leone
@344 Maybin

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Toral's pitching staff looks really strong... that should be hard to beat in those CATs.
C1-NRB's first four picks really solidified him across all hitting Cats.
Electroman/PeteN both seemed to be getting good value throughout the draft, often taking guys from my queue.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

No major surprises yet.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

It would have been nice to have a little more position flexibility... since we have a pretty short bench... maybe try to target a couple of those guys earlier.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

My plan is usually pretty much the same every year, for better or worse. Best available first two rounds, SP in round 3 or 4, an RP in round 6 or 7, and whatever else I can get until about round 12 when I start hunting positions and stats. I did pretty well this year, I think. I have alot of upside in my hitting, and while I don't have that one knockout SP, I have alot of depth there.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

My favorite picks are Albies, Acuna, Baez and Miller. I think they will all out-perform their draft positions.

My least favorite pick is AJ Pollock. I panicked a bit there because my whole queue was eaten in 4 picks and I didn't know what to do. That being said, he has alot of all-around ability, so it isn't a disaster, and his SB ability allowed me to ignore the stat later in the draft.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I don't usually pay attention to what other people are doing. It is a shame nobody on my end of the draft posted rationals, as I would have liked to see their thought processes or how I might have affected their draft.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

The biggest surprise to me was the run on CI in the 8th-10th rounds. I have never seen that before. My whole 3B plan was pretty much squashed at that point and I had to go in a different direction. Because of that, I did get 4 players in that part of the draft later than every other league - Price, Baez, Familia, and Miller.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Third round pick. That's about it. I liked my draft. Of course, I liked my draft last year and now I'm in AA, so who knows! I think Acuna is the centerpiece of my draft, and if he plays like I think he is going to, there is a good chance for me, even with my average SP's.
