I see the other RIBC are going to start drafting in a week and ignoring the two Japan based regular season games 3/20-21. Im ready to go and it would be ok for me if maybe we draft earlier and finish in time for those games. But if the league wants to stay with timelines of the other RIBC and finish by the 3/28 openers, that’s cool too.

As usual I’m no help and will go with the flow

In my mind, it's normally best to give more than 24 hours notice that the draft is about to begin.

Although, I see no reason in not starting tomorrow, but I'd vote that we only turn the clock on Tuesday morning.

I don't know if others feel similarly, but I was expecting this draft to start much later (Guru's initial email said "Be aware that the league drafts will likely be held during the period from March 10-28").

I'm likely outvoted here because the people who have commented on the thread seem eager to get this draft done early, but I also hadn't checked the thread after making my draft slot selection because I wasn't anticipating we'd be starting anytime soon: it's possible that others might be in the same boat.

Maybe go unclocked for round 1. Ensures everyone know the draft started, and it could set someone back unfairly to time out on a round one selection

The big boys at RIBC anticipate starting March 10/11. I haven’t been reading their thread as I do my own thing (see Seattle) I think that is late to start as it pushes us to go fast once the first few rounds are done.

However there are some who need more time to do research.

So let’s go untimed for the first round — maybe more depending upon how far we get, but definitely timed no later than March 10 8:00 am EDT.

A big favor, if you are up next and will NOT be drafting soonest, post in the thread so we don’t throw a hissy fit wondering what’s up.

How does that sound?

Decency has been lost. Common courtesy is a thing of the past.

I use the autopick not because I keep on top of my draft and it is convenient for me, but because I can't bare the thought of keeping 15 other people waiting. If I were ever faced with not being prepared to make a pick, I would certainly post in this thread to alert everyone.

Too many other managers in RIBC fail in maintaining this most basic duty to the other participants. Judy described it as a "big favor", but I don't. If you are going to wait two whole days before deciding which slot you want to take in the draft, say something. Don't keep the other fifteen of us wondering WTF?! If you don't like that the draft has started a bit earlier than it has in the past, speak up. By making the rest of us wait and wonder when the draft is going to start, you are being a passive aggressive jerk.

I disagree with the policy to have the first round untimed because, by the looks of things, this allows one manager to stop the draft for an entire week without explaining why. Everyone knows the draft has started, no one is going to allow their first pick to be skipped over. I strongly urge that Judy stick with her original plan and start the clock today.

I've gone through this before. I expect Twilson to huff and puff about how important his life is, about how I am rude and mock me with a misunderstanding of the concept of Zen. Zen is much more than the English word "calm", okay. The Shaolin Monastery is Chan Buddhist institution, "Chan" is Chinese, "Zen" is Japanese. Those monks are much more than "chill".

Bottom line is... you signed up for RIBC, the draft has started, let's get on with it. It's too bad that we even have to use a clock, but without it, a handful of managers would take days to make a pick.

I feel like the limited vote that we had, had more/less decided that we were starting when we did, and that we'd be on the clock by now.

I also feel that we are all aware that qualifier drafts start at different intervals, and we should be monitoring the forums/DraftTime. The fact that "pick process" is complete should have been enough of a heads up that we are good to go. The fact that any manager was able to pick a slot, would reasonably mean that we also should have been ready (from a research perspective) to make this first pick (at the very least).

@Seatlezen congratulations. I thought for sure that tirade would have occurred 24 hours earlier. Waiting for everyone to realize the draft started was the only sensible thing to do in this situation.

It sounds like you want to join a 2 min clock snake draft and not participate in a fun slow draft. If you don’t know where to find such a draft let me know and I will gladly point you in the right direction.

At Yahoo Ohtani is 2 players,
At ESPN Ohtani is 1 player.
At draftime Ohtani is 3 players to accommodate both formats.
Should be possible to remove Ohtani OF and Ohtani P from the database.
And allow PermDude to pick again.

There is no games played info on the site, just like we all complained about in hoops. The only way to have any clue if you are on pace or exceeded limits is on via a random button on the app. A hugely important piece of info, just not included. Ridiculous.

You also can't search a player name in the top right on the My Team page which i found useful.

I have the beginnings of a program that will pull in your roster from a ESPN league and show which players are in the starting lineup - and which are not.

The formatting is still simplistic, and I hope to eventually add some other info to the display as well (e.g., gametime, postponed, etc.), but so far it seems to do its basic job pretty well. I also hope to be able to incorporate a display of actual games played by slot at some point.

I currently have it set up for RIBC, G20, and RIBC-AAA. I can easily add RIBC-AA if someone can tell me the ESPN league ID for that league. (It is specified as part of the league URL.)

Posted lineup data is updated every 10-15 minutes during the day. Even if ESPN gets it act together and posts starters, I have found in the past that my data is often available earlier than what was posted at ESPN (although not always).

Let me know what other data would be useful to include. For now, I'm showing all hitters (starters and bench) plus all pitchers on the bench. I figure this will easily point out any players in your lineup that are not starting, and any bench players that are.

I am glad that Captain Canuck drafted you before I had the chance to make that mistake (though it hasn't kept the Maple Leaf from being in first place for most of the season). 103 - That’s a very short sided way of looking at it, but here’s my thoughts on the deal. I’m way ahead in IP pace and have a need for speed. Dyson fits the bill and I’m confident I can still find SP value through streaming as needed.

And in a fun note that only a few could appreciate ... I was able to catch Felix twice in Everett, and once in Tacoma last month.

Three minor league games ... three hot dogs ... six beers ... still cheaper than one visit to see the Mariners at T-Mobile Park. And you can sit so close that you can smell the suck.

Thanks guys. There were a lot of very competitive teams in this league. Very recently there were something like 7 teams around 105 and higher if I'm not mistaken. I was buried in the lower to middle part of the pack for a large chunk of the season. I owe a lot to G. Cole and J. Flaherty being so completely lights out after the AS-break.

Also, the juiced ball made it easier than ever to find useful bats among the free agents. But, useful pitchers among the free agents, that was a different matter!

Haha. Thanks but I think a lot of it is out-nerding the competition. While others are spending their time tending to their social relationships with others, I'm the type of jackass you'll see out at the lake on the weekend with my phone out researching the minor league splits of some catcher just to squeeze in an extra 4 at bats the next day while my beer is getting warm. It's really sad.
