Quote of the day
"This doesn't make sense. You don't realize it. It's something that's surreal. But that's what we are, World Series champs." -- San Francisco pitcher Matt Cain

Daily blurb
The oft quoted cliché “Good pitching stops good hitting” was certainly true in the 2010 World Series. Texas had the highest regular season team batting average in the American League. San Francisco ranked only 9th in the NL in runs scored. But the Rangers managed only 29 hits in 5 games vs. the Giants - while San Francisco scored 29 runs!

In Football Pickoff, we finally had a week with more positive scores than negatives. It’s been awhile since that happened. Kudos to Mike, with the top weekly score of 605, in spite of missing the Monday night game.

During the NFL season, the NBA tends to offer light schedules on Sunday and Monday. Tonight, we return to a fuller slate with 7 games, followed by 12 games tomorrow. It’s nice to have something current to do during the mid-week NFL lull.

Finally got back on the Pickoff wagon--somehow finished 2nd last week! I should probably quit while on a positive note.
