Quote of the day
"Well, I don't really want to start anything, but I did play in the Super Bowl and there were rumors where [Donovan McNabb] couldn't get our two-minute offense going at the end of the game. I'm just saying..." -- Terrell Owens, commenting on Mike Shanahan’s decision to bench McNabb at the end of Sunday’s game

Daily blurb
You don’t usually have an NBA game postponed. Occasionally, a blizzard will wipe out a game. But last night’s game in Madison Square Garden wasn’t about the weather. It was about whether asbestos was released during recent renovations. Apparently it was not. No make-up date has been announced, but when it is, I’ll update the NBA schedules on this site.

Rajon Rondo continued to dish ‘em out, with another 17 assists last night. Through four games, he’s averaging 17 assists per game. Last year, he averaged about 10 assists/game – but I do note that he also started strong, averaging 12.3 in his first three games. Nonetheless, he only had at least 17 assists in two games last year – exactly 17 vs. the Nets on Feb 27, and 18 vs. Sacramento on March 18. So the fact that he already has reached or exceeded that number three times in his first four games this year is certainly notable.

Rondo wasn’t even the top point guard last night, though, as he scored only 9 points while getting 4 steals. Compare that to John Wall, who scored 29 points with 13 assists and 9 steals. Wall did turn the ball over 8 times, but his fantasy point total was still way above anyone else for the night. In the RIHC leagues, Wall was drafted #42 on average. That may turn out to be one of the better bargains. Then again, it’s early in the season, and he may still hit the proverbial “rookie Wall.”
