Quote of the day
"We got back to getting after it again. I guess [coach Erik Spoelstra] felt he was loosening up just a little bit too much. He knows he needs to meet us halfway. He wants to work; we want to chill. We’re going to have to work in order to get everything down. To get the timing down, to get our chemistry down." -- Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, after a 27-point win over Phoenix

Daily blurb
The Portland Trail Blazers announced that Greg Oden will undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee Friday and will miss the entire 2010-11 season. For his first four years in the NBA, he will have played a total of 82 games, the equivalent of one full season. Will he ever have an NBA career? He makes Yao Ming look like an iron man.

After a lackluster first couple of weeks in Minnesota, Michael Beasley has suddenly morphed into Michael Beastly, averaging 42.7 RSCP/G over his last five games. The TWolves even won three of those, although they were against weak teams. Maybe more impressive are the close road losses at Atlanta and Charlotte. Could the tandem of Beasley and Love actually lead the team to relevance?

The NFL offers a Thursday night game tonight, Chicago at Miami. Don’t forget to check your fantasy lineups, and get your Football Pickoff selection for this game logged in before the 8:20pm kickoff.
