Quote of the day
"I wouldn't exactly call it a vacation." -- Phoenix Suns coach Alvin Gentry, after losing on consecutive nights in Florida by a combined 43 points

Daily blurb
I don’t know what was worse – watching the Fins and Bears combine for only 16 points (and only about 450 yards combined), or listening to Joe Theisman pontificate. Suffice it so say that my remote control clicker was getting some heavy back-and-forth action last night.

I heard Ron Jaworski make a comment on PTI yesterday that stunned me. “The Broncos are dead last running the football.” It used to be that they were a perennial RB factory, as Denver could seemingly mint 100-yard running backs out of thin air. But apparently, thin air by itself is not enough.

Eleven NBA games are on tap tonight, including the Lakers at Minnesota. At the start of the season, this would have been penciled in as a likely ho-hummer. But with the recent solid play of Beasley and Love, and the memory that Minnesota played the Lakers tough in L.A. just 10 days ago, this may be an interesting one after all.
