Quote of the day "I don't know enough about the Xs and Os of college football. I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it's like murderer's row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day. So I think until a university runs through that gauntlet that there's some reason to believe that they not be the best teams to [be] in the big ballgame." -- Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee, disparaging the worthiness of Boise Sate or TCU to appear in the title game if they are undefeated Daily blurb The best stat line in the NBA last night was 24 points, 18 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists – by JaVale McGee. McGee also has the distinction of being just one of two active NBA players to have four capital letters in his two names (click to reveal the other=> DeMar DeRozan). How’s that for in-depth research that you are unlikely to find at any other fantasy sports site? As usual, there are three NFL games on Thanksgiving Thursday. For Football Pickoff, you need to make your selections for all three games prior to the kickoff time of the first game, which is 12:30pm EST. Of course, you might be better off skipping these picks. Two of the games are currently very lopsided, which makes them problematic in Pickoff. I’ll be with family for the next two days, so the next blurb won’t be until next Monday. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday! |

I have to agree 100% with the quote. If Boise State or TCU play for the title game it will be a complete disgrace to the BCS system and college football. Its a shame we cant get an 8 game playoff to allow teams like BS and TCU to have a legitimate shot at the championship.

I agree that Boise State doesn't have the schedule to match a Big Ten team (among many other top conferences). And they don't have a history of tough schedules either.
But if OSU (and other BCS conference teams) are so confident, why do they refuse to schedule teams like TCU and Boise State?
And that quote sidesteps the real question: Is Boise State the top team in the nation? They've looked pretty damn good, IMO.
And if they both play in the title game which pushes the NCAA to institute a playoff, that'll be to everyone's benefit.

For those that didn't see it, Georgia scheduled a home and home with BS starting next year. Maybe this will get the ball rolling.

"What I should do is go over to the surgical suites and get my foot extricated from my mouth. What do I know about college football? I look like Orville Redenbacher. I have no business talking about college football.”
