Quote of the day "Jack didn't finish his until he was 46, so if you go by that timetable, I've got 10 more years. Forty (more) majors is a lot. I've got plenty of time." -- Tiger Woods (36), speaking in advance of the PGA Championship, still needing to win four majors to tie Jack Nicklaus’ career total of 18Daily blurb The fourth golf major tournament tees off tomorrow morning in South Carolina. In Gurugolf, prizes are awarded for each major, and also for the four majors combined (best ball and worst ball), so a lot of RotoGuru logo golf balls will be up for grabs this weekend. Make sure you give your foursome(s) an appropriate pep talk tonight. We’re now down to just five openings in the AA RIFC Qualifying league. If you have an interest, sign up now. We hope to have this league filled within the next few days. No experience necessary. Believe it or not, I’m heading out tomorrow for my fourth vacation trip of the summer. (I have a very accommodating boss.) Blurbs will be suspended until mid-August. But I’ll still be checking in regularly, with laptop and mobile hotspot always in tow. |

Anyone think Tiger will reach as pass Jack? It was such a sure thing 5 years ago. It looks tough now.

Tiger used to be the toughest mental player on the tour by a huge margin. I don't think he has had that for awhile.
He also has changed his swing a number of times and I don't think he is as comfortable with his swing as he once was. He has also focused so much on his physical shape that I think it interferes with his current swing.
It is still possible, but I think it is getting more and more unlikely. Can anyone imagine a 25 year-old Tiger blowing the 2 chances he had this summer?

I think it's wait and see. He still is less then a year out from a major injury that drastically set back his career. Yet he's still managed to win 3 tournaments this year. So the question remains are the difficulties he's experiencing just the downward slope of his career? Or is he still working his way back from a major injury and surgery?
