Just looking around this morning and noticed that the Guru NET division ranks 6th in the TSN division rankings. I think this is terrific! No Extra Trades competing favorably with divisions that buy trades is impossible in the long run, but I feel proud of our division. |

Actually, most of the leaders that I've looked at in the "Top Managers" haven't bought any trades, nor made any trades. A lot of people just had a great draft, believe it or not. Also, I really don't think buying trades is going to be big in this game. It will be in Baseball and Basketball (if it happens in the free game next year) because there is something to be gained: extra pitching starts in Baseball and extra games in Basketball. You really don't gain much with the NASCAR game since most drivers worth having on your team will qualify and there's no compelling reason to overhaul your lineup every week, so I don't think you need to buy extra trades in this game unless a.) you had a horrible draft, b.) you're a trade-a-holic and want to trade just to trade, or c.) you're over-managing your team.

KKB - I agree. I've onyl made two trades so far and I'm still ranked around 2000 WWR. (Granted, the trades I made have sucked)

I don't know how I do it, but I'm sure it has something to do with preparation. I seem to have a need to handicap myself with a horrible start.
Mixing a free-game with the pay game is certainly not an advantage to the pay players. If you manage to pick some keep-em for many weeks drivers. You are potentially set, making money with the popular drivers and saving trades in the meantime.
Good luck to all as I pick through the debris.

Among my 4 teams, the one I bought trades for is the worst off! I have one team that's 2nd in an auto division, but I haven't bothered to check out the competition to see if he/she is buying trades.
Would like to know what the % of teams are buying trades now, and if that % will change closer to the end of the contest?????

Go NET league! =)
I know nothing about Nascar, but am becoming a new fan thanks to TSN.
OT: How do you tell if they've bought any trades? I cant even see the number of trades they have! =)

MF, you have to do some good old fashioned math. ;) Look at their team for each week and see how many changes they made. Add up the changes and compare it to the number of trades available at that time. BTW, I haven't done this since after the 3rd week because I'm too lazy, but you'll notice that most of the top managers have a teamname that refers to Sterling Marlin, another sign that they just had a good draft to start the season.

I think I ended up around 1300 WWR, never bought a trade and ended up with 8 trades in the bank. I think this is one game that you don't need to buy extra trades to compete. I wish I had paid more attention from week to week.

Season 1 has three races left, thru 7/14, still time for one to improve ones ranking.
Top Division Rankings haven't changed in like two months, TSN has dropped the ball on this one.
