"First price update of the season is Sat, 2/23."

Um, ok. It's now 7/27.

Might want to check out the drivers' "Previous Price" and team "Franchise Value Change" while you're at it.

Plus they are still showing last weeks teams for everyone in the division. During the 1st half at least the new rosters were show once the freeze passed. You'd think after last weeks little oh-oh that they might have thought about a little QA or testing early in the week? Nope. Maybe somebody to actually check in after the freeze Saturday evening to ensure all is well? Nope. This is getting close to old SW. I guess with Erik on vacation its party 24-7.

My other question to TSN is did anyone notice a possible problem with last weeks freeze and the hijinxes(sp?) that followed, or were you taken by surprise? I think this bothers me the most about the situation; that we (this board) are usually the ones that call attention to the situation, or at least get TSN to admit to the problem. I know in baseball Bernie and Erik are playing, but is anybody even playing NASCAR just to keep a cursory eye on things?

[KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK]

Hello, is anybody home? First Price Movers and other price related variables, and now no points update on Monday morning.

If you're going to offer a game, even if it's a free game, you really should still run it like you do your other games.

So sad it's kinda funny. I couldn't help but laugh a bit at slosh's comment. Never thought I'd see "TSN" and "cursory eye" mentioned in the same breath. : )

This looks like a repeat of last season where about the middle of the season they more or less gave up on the racing game. They screwed up the points at last years July Daytona race and never corrected it, then as the season progressed it seemed like they lost interest in the racing game completely.

Looks like they've still got issues with frozen rosters. This is a copy and paste from my trade history page:

Date/Time (EST) Driver Bought For: Sold For:
07/27 10:47am Andretti, John 1,380,000 -
07/27 10:46am Skinner, Mike - 1,900,

I sold Skinner and bought Andretti on this team 8 hours before the 7pm freeze. However, I got Skinner's 76 pts for Sunday's race instead of Andretti's 94.

This Asphalt Eden

What the heck is going on with this game? They're not paying attention to the details of this one at all.

Pistol Pete, I have the same problems. Point differntials for my teams:

A: 1451 (Actual: 1512)
B: No trades, so fine.
C: 1476 (Actual: 1496)

This is just stupid now.

I've got 5 teams that I am playing and only one of my teams has the correct point total! My teams look like this:

Team name TSN Point Correct points Difference
Cheap Slutz 1304 1466 -162
CheapSlutz 1475 1350 +125
Pond Scum 1315 1268 -47
PondScum 1269 1334 -65
RoadKill 1475 1475 0

The real kicker is that team RoadKill and team Cheap Slutz had the exact same lineup yet one got the correct points and the other was short by 162 points. The only difference was that team Cheap Slutz made two trades this week and team RoadKill made none. When the points were screwed up last year the problem was obvious that the points given were for the lineups for the previous freeze and it looks like the same thing here. I checked and the difference in points between the drivers I sold and the drivers I bought is 162. I really doubt that this is a coincidence. I haven't checked the other teams, but I am sure the results would be the same. Like Pistol Pete, my trades were made well in advance of the freeze (the last trade on team Cheap Slutz was made at 12:04 a.m. on 7/27) so there is no reason that I should have been given the points for last weeks drivers. I tried repeatedly to get TSN to correct the problem last year and not only was it never corrected, they never even admitted that there was an error. Smart money says that the same thing will happen this time. I finished with a WWR of 47 last year despite getting screwed out of quite a few points. This year, with the season being split in half, the points are much more valuable and getting cheated out of the points you deserve can be the difference between a good finish and a pathetic one. I said last year that I would never play a TSN game again, and I didn't play the Basketball or Baseball games like I normally would have, but this is the final straw. If they don't admit the problem and correct it this time I am finished with the TSN games and TSN in general.

BackwoodsBum, I checked the 2 teams with different points that I have and both were using the previous week's frozen rosters. And my trades were made around 10am on Saturday morning, well before the roster freeze.

I'm wondering if they had the same problem as last week where rosters were never frozen, so the only frozen roster they had in the database was the one they had from the first week after correcting the problem.

This doesn't give me a lot of confidence about TSN moving forward. All the confidence I had built up by playing Ultimate Baseball is eroding away each day that this problem goes unfixed and each week that the roster issue keeps appearing.

TSN must be making some changes. My wife's team went from 10th last night to 11th today. She has the problem of being scored with last weeks drivers too. I see the've added the point totals from Sunday too.

It looks like the roster/points issue from the Pocono race has been cleared up, yet there is still the issue with a driver's "player page" showing "same" for "Previous Price" and no Franchise Value Change and no Division Rank and World Rank changes either. Further, the "07/28, Sun" link under "Daily Stats Breakdown" shows my roster with no points and the text "You have not earned any TSNP yet." Interesting.

Also, I can't tell if this is a new message, but I'm really not comfortable with TSN not telling the truth about the problems they're having: "We have experienced a discrepancy with our scoring in last weeks race. These have now been fixed. Please log in and review your scores. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused."

They didn't experience a discrepancy with scoring, they experienced a failure to record the frozen roster for the Pocono race, just like they did for the New Hampshire race. I don't understand why TSN can't just say, "We experienced a problem freezing rosters for the Pocono race, which caused an incorrect calculation of scores for teams that made trades for this race. This problem has been corrected and scores have been recalculated using the correct frozen roster," unless they're trying to incorrectly place the blame on someone besides themselves -- like the stats source, or something.

The half-truths and quarter-truths about what is really going on isn't fair to those people playing the game that don't happen to read this message forum and makes me suspicious about how truthful TSN will be about other problems they experience with other games, particularly the ones that people are paying money for.

Another error. The "Top Divisions" link only shows 4 divisions, with what appears to be incorrect scores, and the "Divisions 51-100" link says, "Top Divisions will be available after the season begins."

Hey guys, we are in no way trying to defer blame. When there is a problem we go to a code red and try to figure out what is going on. A post is made and we figure out the problem. Sometimes we make the post after the fix is made. While I will agree my post was a bit generic it is was in no way designed to mis inform or misrepresent the truth. We are trying to work out some of the bugs that we have been experiencing lately. I will personally be taking up the crusade to make sure you guys are kept informed as to what is going on. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the problems we have had lately.

Larry -
AS KKB asked, the front page is showing this note (how about a date posted on the message?):

Important Note: We have experienced a discrepancy with our scoring in last weeks race. These have now been fixed. Please log in and review your scores. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused.

Is that from the first week or this past week(Pocono)? Cause if it is this week, the problem still isn't fixed. When I click on the Your Team link on the left I see the correct drivers and their points. But then when I click on the division link I seen the incorrect points for the week and the total is off, too.

Anybody else still missing points from the Pocono race?
I still am!!! When I click on the my team link I have the right drivers and points. But from the division page I still am not being rewarded the correct points for my Petty-> Waltrip move. TSN YOU STILL HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!
If anybody is watching from TSN, team ids ->6868, 41221, and 7753 (a buddy's who is not getting points for his bodine->bodine move)

Everybody check their teams and then look at the totals on the division page to make sure they are getting rewarded for their drivers.

slosh, I'm not seeing a problem with any of my 3 teams. On 2 teams I made trades I've rec'd points for them and they add up to my current totals. I double confirm it by going to the "Daily Stats Breakdown" at the bottom of the "scorecard" page. The link for the Pocono race has my correct drivers listed.

Just found one small problem, if you click on your team from the "Division" page, you get your frozen roster for Pocono. My drivers are correct along with their scores. However, if you go to the area I mentioned above, "Daily Stats Breakdown", the dates are reversed from the "scorecard" page. The 1st race is listed 1st as opposed to the "scorecard" page where the last race is listed 1st. Could this be your problem?

Thanks for the headsup Challenger, but nope, at least for me. My roster shows me with Waltrip and his points, but then when I go to the daily breakdown I have Kyle Petty and his points.

Have you emailed Larry? He's the one I now contact with any problems within TSN. With me he usually responds back within 5/10 minutes, but now it's the weekend so it may be a little longer this time.

I guess we need to start tracking our own Division Ranking and WWR to determine how much we move up or down each week.
