I just can't picture Ward plugging NetZero. "His tenure in the NetZero Pontiac will begin at Atlanta Motor Speedway in two weeks and continue through the 2004 campaign." And I see AOL thought the same. "That seat was supposedly Ward Burton's, but sponsor AOL reportedly balked because Burton doesn't exactly meet AOL's target demographic."
I think AOL lost out there. Although Ward might not have fit their target audience, he could put that team in victory lane. I guess a well spoken pretty young face is more important... And who is thier target audience? Anyone with a computer and little knowledge of how to use it? ;-}

Perhaps a younger driver like Mayfield would fit AOL's "wants". The buzz

At least with Mayfield we'll understand what he's saying in the commercials. Ward always reminds me of that coach in "The Waterboy". "Hum he oh wah bo you taw bay who de aw AOL."

HAHAHA! Great one KKB. He's so much worse than Jeff for some reason. I think you can understand about one word per five with Ward :')
