TSN has upgrade their NASCAR game to 'Ultimate' status. Pay-to-play. If this means that they actually pay attention to the game now, then I'm all for it. :)
There is the usual six driver slots, and also there's now one manufacturer slot where you pick Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Pontiac.
$10 bucks for one team, $25 for three teams if you do the early bird. A nice $100 prize for winning a division. However it looks like you'll need to buy trades to have a chance.

I saw that too, looks interesting. I haven't looked to much into it, but your saying you have a chance to buy trades instead of getting 1 a week or something?

Yes. The trade buying aspect is no different from last year.
Since they're giving away $100 per 12-team league, it looks like the trade buying is what will make the game profitable for them.

Since the Nextel Cup Series is changing the points system, I wonder if TSN will do the same? I doubt it since they already have all the stuff up, but you never know.

I just signed up and I'm currently in the division with Fatal Image. Based on prior years/sports I'm guessing that the total number of entries will plummet especially given that you have to pay upfront AND pay for trades. Ultimate Hoops (which only has an entry fee) has 5,000 entries. If you had to pay for trades also I'm sure that number would be between 500-1,000. I think this contest will draw about 1,000 entries tops.
How many people will pay the $10 for a team but not pay for trades? Why bother?

Does anyone find the new pages rather annoying with all the ads invading your space?

Could someone explain the two roster freezes. I read the rules but do not fully understand? Do you have to have your roter for that week set before the 1st or 2nd one? What is the purpose of the two freezes?

If I'm reading it correctly, I think you set a lineup before the qualifying races, get points for those results, and then set another lineup (if desired) before the actual race and get points for those results.

Does that mean a trade at each roster freeze?

Oh god.. I hope they don't pay any attention to the Nextel new points/playoff shit. That is the worst idea I have ever heard. We can only hope they abort this awful experiment after the first year.

It's the same game that was free for years. **yawn** Looks like it's strictly Kafenatid.net for me. TSN just gets worse and worse. Thank god for Fred's games!!!

Ya I was going to enter and buy a team then I saw this "Opportunity to purchase additional trades". NO FRICKEN WAY!
TSN YOU have sold me on going elswhere to play Fantasy Nascar. Yep they ruined another game! I am not going to compete with someone that will spend more in buying trades to win the division than they will receive in rewards 6 months later. ugh!
God I hope they do not do this to basketball next year! Then I might as well completely pack up my bags.
Anyone know of a good Nascar fantasy Game?
