This forum was created based upon a good suggestion from Chuck. Here is his rationale:
It seems that a large portion of the "OT" threads (at least recently) have been technology related. I am sure many in here could say that they have gained some computer knowledge from the exchange in these threads.

I wonder if the formation of a technology/computers forum would be enough to warrant the bandwith. Just off-hand, I could think of some regular topics:

-Exchange of fun/useful websites
-Up to date information on viruses
-Nifty information about spy-bots, pop-ups
-HTML lessons (a blast from the past)
-Dumb questions about computers that many people have, but fear muddying up the board with a myriad of "OT" threads

Additionally, this would be a concise area where these tips are collected together, as opposed to in a variety of sports forums, where it can be guess and check to find which forum that thread was in.
There are a lot of related threads in other forums, but unfortunately, it is not a simple matter to move threads across forum lines. If someone has the time and energy, it would be great to publish a listing of links to many of those other threads.

Going forward, all computer-related questions and issues should be addressed here.

After years of being here, I finally contributed a worthwhile idea!

Thanks for the work, Guru.

Thanks Dave! This should help raise the computer intelligence (errr..lower the computer stupidity) level of this rotogurupie (if it could only help me in the different games); and yes Chuck, it surprised us too, but you are at least 1 ahead of me. (could be more if we get negative scores for bad ideas)

Guru,

Maybe the second pull-down menu on this forum can link to some of the common software sites (McAfee, Norton, etc) and some other helpful sites being referenced?

That's fine. Please post suggested links here, and after we assemble a good list, I'll update the menu.

Download.com is an excellent resource for, well, downloads. Their reviews are usually spot on and the ratings are usually accurate.
