Anyone know how to get this fully off your computer? Adaware and Spybot won't get rid of all of it and it pops up 5 minutes later. It seems to be taking over more and more each hour also. I googled it but it mainly gave me other Spybot type programs.

I had a problem with removing this, or something quite like this, for quite a while, and I seem to remember that, much to my astonishment, I found it in the "Add/Remove Programs" list, and just removed it. Problem solved.

It seems a bit simple for something so pernicious, so maybe it was something else besides coolwebsearch.

Bili - sometimes it's as simple as going to add/remove programs. Lots of spyware/adware can be removed by simply taking it out from there. Sometimes though it's on the PC without being listed in add/remove programs.

Yeah, adaware kept claiming to have cleaned it, spypot didn't even see it and cwshredder didn't work either, for some reason.

I was truly shocked to see it just sitting there waiting to be removed, and even more shocked when it worked.

It isn't in my Add/Remove unfort. Oh well, right now it doesn't seem to be around. But I bet it will show up again sometime soon haha.

Hmm it hasn't been able to find anything on my computer. Even in Safemode. Even when CWS stuff is popping up. All it is finding that my home page keeps wanting to change to about.blank/ which is keeps on doing.

I haven't opened any attachment so it shouldn't have hit me. It seems to run, but then doesn't pick up anything.
