This virus has just infected my computer. I used to have no problems with pop-ups but none it's like they won't stop.

Norton said they have identified bloodhound as the virus but they can't get rid of it.
Any thoughts?

I have but there are an innumerable amount of different remedies to alleviate this. I was hoping there was someone here that has experienced this personally and could share their insights.

The cause might be that you didn't turn off System Restore during the removal. System Restore caches files, so that if your system crashes you can restore it to the last working state. Norton Anti-Virus does not remove System Restore cache files.

System Restore is turned on by default, so unless you turn it off, even if you do the removal, the infected file will still exist in the System Restore cache. So, before starting the removal, right-click on My Computer, then click on View system information under System Tasks, click the System Restore tab. Then check the "Turn off System Restore" box and click OK. Do the removal, then reboot your computer - preferably a cold reboot. Then, go back to the System Restore window and clear the box you checked to turn System Restore back on....if this doesn't fix it you need to do some more research..lots of info out there to help you..also you might try a new Anti-Virus...there are a few free ones that work great (AVG is very good)...Never cared much for Norton myself
