Anyone notice changes in Yahoo mail in the last week? It strips stuff out of my messages and takes focus away randomly, making me type my password wrong. Anyone else? |

they changed the news pages, but the change you describe in email seems really odd. why would they do that?

I guess they get an extra impression every time I mess up the password. The images are better now, but the password this still happens. Weird.

That would make me very nervous. Triple check the address, and make sure you aren't getting your password stolen.

It's http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.tries=1
And the regular login worked when I did it slowly.

I don't use yahoo mail, but it is possible (and actually happens) for someone to reproduce the yahoo login screen exactly, have you enter your information into their screen, stealing your password in the process, then send you to your legit email account, leaving you none the wiser.
If you use that same password for your online bank accounts, paypal or any other site that has your CC info, you could be in for a nasty surprise.
This, of course, presumes that you used a different method than you usually do to get to the login screen.
My friend did this to me (and a bunch of other co-workers) at a job in the late 80s, so this isn't a new trick. Just a very affective one.

I think I've seen that but it's apparently not the case here. But it's still happening. Maybe I'm just clumsy.

Still reading up to see how this works...

HELP!!!!!! My Yahoo mail is constantly hijacked by this site:
http://www.sp-servers.com/
sarge also gets his hotmail hijacked from time-to-time.
We have searched everywhere and cannot find anything on our computer related to this.
We do have a firewall, Sygate, as well as AdAware and SpyBot. Neither of which finds sp-servers.
It used to pop to casino sights, now its porn.
Help!!!!!!!!!!

Follow-up: I only noticed this at work, where I just got a new computer. Not at home. So perhaps the new software is adding characters on the main page but not on the "you messed up" page.

katietx:
download hijackthis.exe It notifies you when changes, such as default homepage etc., have been made to your system. Then, you can chose to ignore/accept them or restore the previous state. It does not detect the source but it tells you that something is wrong.
