I've been getting this message lately and it shuts my cpu down in 45 seconds or so. I cant remember what it said exactly but next time i see it, i'll write it down. Some type of Win32lasse or something. Seems to do it when i'm on the net. I"ve done clean installs and virus scans and spyware scans. Nothing. |

Here is the message. It happens at any moment.
The system process C:/WINNT/system32llsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128.
At the top of the pop up box it says: Shutdown initiated by NT Authority System.

Is this a work computer? Using Windows NT?
Sounds like a problem with a server.

This might help but looks scary.
Have you downloaded the latest service packs?
I don't have a clue about "system32llsass.exe." Did you type this correctly?

Yep. I typed it right. Service pack did nothing. Tried that already.

lsass.exe = Local Security Authority Service
However, alot of viruses masquerade as lsass.exe. At the very least it looks like you have some registry corruption. The easiest way to solve this is to backup anything you want to keep and do a format/reinstall of windows.

Thanks R9. Didn't know what that was.
CC, you can try a registry fix program, like Registry Mechanic to see if the problem can be fixed without having to reload Windows.
