I'm trying to convert an excel file to word format. Any way to do this simply, preferably by only using tools within Microsoft Office?

Can you try to open the file in Word and see if it converts it?

Thank you for the suggestion but I have tried that and also the copy/paste method. It makes the format wacky.

What version of Office are you using? I'm using 2003 and Copy/Pasted and it retained all the formatting. Admittedly it was a simple test of bolds/colors/bgcolors/borders. Nothing fancy.

You can copy the info from Excel to Notepad, then copy it from Notepad to Word.

Notepad is a nice middle-man.

I use Paste Special-Formatted Text (RTF) to maintain my Excel formatting when copying/pasting from Excel to Word

Richard, that worked wonders. Thank you. Just needed to widen/tighten some columns but that's very minor. Thanks again.

Glad it worked for you.
