Subject: boot.ini erased on laptop

I've accidentally erased boot.ini file on my laptop intetrnal hdd. I can't boot now. what tool can be used to restore this file? I need a tool that will boot and restore it. |

If you have your install disks you can just re-install your os and that should do the trick. You might then have to re-do security upgrades on it, but you should be good to go with the bootup at least.

Oh, and if you accidently erased it with a particular program, you might see if that program has an undelete or restore function

Hi, You can use Active@ Undelete. The tool can boot itself from a disk and restore files even if OS can't boot. http://www.active-undelete.com/

Ignore intensive - he's one and the same person as tim berry who's spamming dozens of forums with the same messages trying to sell his crap and unneseccary software. (Just do a Google for "intensive boot.ini" to see what I mean).

hi! i've used disk doctor at last, and seems like it worked. I was away for a while and were not able to try any methods, i even thought it's the dead end already..
