This looks like a Guru advertiser, and the last few days I've been getting a pop-up add when visiting just this site when their banner add appears at the top of a forum page, both from work and from home.
Firefox, XP, blah blah blah.
Anyone else getting this?
Since I haven't lost a bet (i.e. contributed to Guru) in a while, I guess I can't complain too loudly, but I was just curious if I was the only one, and if so, how you folks are suppressing the annoyance. |

Er... I guess that would be ad, not add. I've been working too hard. ;)
Interesting that it's just NWerners who see it. I wonder if it's a regional thing. Or a geek thing. ;)
I don't know why targeting based on region for spyware would make sense.

My advertising sources aren't supposed to supply pop-ups. It's possible that some rogue advertiser slipped one in there, I suppose.

Yep, this Washingtonian has seen it. Perhaps they think we are extra gullible.

I am in Kitsap County west of Seattle and I have not seen it. I have seen some very very nasty adwares, spywares, and trajans(?) lately though. I have had 3 computers wiped and cleaned in 4 months. Now my computer fixer person tells me to use Webroot "Spy Sweeper with Antivirus" instead of McAfee. Does anyone know this product? Please email me.
