So 2 things I've been wondering lately as I'm going to sit in a more "public" area at work and need to address for the time being. 1. Is there a way to get a page to load so I start at the bottom of it and can read up? Cause everytime I click on a Yahoo or Rotoguru page to set a lineup or whatever I always get the big fat logo top while it loads the page. This looks bad. Thankfully on this site I can go through the "last post" option and that is useful. 2. Is there a website that has all boxscores from the night before all on one printable page? So I could just hit print once, go pick it up and have this on my desk instead of my computer screen? |

re 1) i don't think that this is possible. the only possibility I see is a userscript that automatically scrolls down as soon as the page is loaded, but during the load you still see the top of the page.
a different solution would be to disable images for the pages in question. I don't know how detailed this is possible in the browser you use. I use Opera and there is a nice little button next to the address bar where I can disable the images in the current tab. so I first disable images and then go to the page where I don't want the logo to be shown.
re 2) what about dailybaseballdata.com?

Thats perfect for the boxscores, thanks. I might just adjust the screen and where my window is open which is an interesting idea. Its funny that I can drag the window and chop off either side or the bottom manually, but can't seem to get around the top.I prefer to use Chrome daily.

Another option would be to get one of those screen blurrers that attach to your monitor, and pretty much limits viewing by anyone but yourself.

At my office, we hit the boss key and our spreadsheets turn into boxscores.

Set the window size so that only the upper left corner which only includes the menu and address bar and maybe 1/8" of the page are visible. Load the page. Scroll down (using the mouse wheel) to a safe spot and expand by pulling the lower right corner as necessary. Helps to have lots of windows open. Keep your fingers on Alt-F4 as a precaution.
On a side note, I convinced my boss I had a cultural/phobic hatred of having my back to people in the room so he let me turn my desk so only I could see the monitor.

That's good!
GO: Maybe you can start on some kind of western gunslinger personality to work on the same thing. Start wearing dusters & boots to work and go from there. Drop the word "varmits!" into conversations.

I think I plan to hire Tree, and have him read me the box scores, movie reviews and wrestling spoilers! :)
