i've never gotten an error code like this:

"The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume CANON_IJ into drive E:."

(options then are Cancel, Try Again, and Continue)

the error has popped up both while playing a baseball sim, and a few other times.

any ideas?

Your computer is expecting a specific CD to be in drive E:. Something on that CD is probably linked to a file (maybe an email, a Word document, etc.) that is in use in the background, probably by a virus scanner. You need to either disable the program that needs to use the CD, nuke the file that contains a link to the CD, or keep that CD in the drive.

Maybe because you left something in the drive. Or someone left something in it.

Next time it pops up pull up the task manager and try to figure out which process it is. Then google it to find out what it is.

This can also happen if you don't complete the installation of a new program, particularly if it requires a reboot and expects the install CD to still be there when it comes back up.

so i figured out what disc it was looking for.

it's a disc totally unrelated to the program, and for whatever reason, it's looking for it. ugh.

at a very frustrating loss.

i uninstalled, and then re-installed, the program on the disc that the unrelated program was looking for.

its still looking for that disc. ugh.

Sounds like you might have a file that is trying to print from your computer to a printer. I agree with the above post that suggests you look through your processes and see what shouldn't be listed there.
