Does anyone know anything about file extension .2 ?

I wrote a letter to SN about a game glitch. Used the address from the top of the forum for Hoops. Toady I got a reply from ROTHOG as an attachment with nothing in the letter. The attachment is labeled Part 1.2 . Nothing on my computer opens it and I can't find any information on that file type. Except that it is obscure. It might open as a PDF file but now I don't know if I really want to. Just curious what it is. If anyone can help it will be much appreciated.

It's most likely a glitch, but it might contain text. You could try opening it in Notepad - that seems low risk.

It's certainly not intended to be a file with a .2 extension, in any event.

Hopefully its not a descriptor of your Rotohog playing skills.

You know...

A number 2...

OK...my 11 year old would have found it funny. :)

Sometimes my email has the text of the email as an attachment as well as being in the body of the email. Clicking on it in Notepad just gets the email message. Maybe that's what is happening here.

Oops. Forgot to put in anything of value there...

Just sounds like they forgot the file extension. I'd do like Guru said and just "Open with..." notepad, or add a ".doc" or ".txt" and open with whatever word processor program you have. Probably safe bet.

Actually I found the joke funny. Going the reverse way would be more accurate as in second from the bottom.

Thanks for the advice. Think I will just delete the email and file as it just doesn't feel right.

Was hoping that someone might have heard of it as I had never come across any file extension that looked like that.
