I cant find the DL folder, I cant find the network controllers to configure the wireless router I cant find the device manager to add the printer, I cant find the WINDOWS tree, to see what is where.
Had the PC been originally released with this POS OS, the whole undertaking would have failed and we'd still be using ATARI 2600s or whatever they would have evolved into. Now have an $800, paperweight, with which I can accomplish absolutely nothing.

It lets you go to Facebook well enough. And that's about it.

I have I-net WK, when I don't put the wireless router in the line. Which means, I don't have I-net with the laptop. I put the wireless router in line (CISCO Linksys E900), and I lose everything. Since I cant find the DL folder, it does no good to go to the CISCO website and DL drivers.

Might have to buy a Mac. I can not get this damn thing to let me DO anything. I can DL a file, but then cant find it to use it, view it, print it etc. If I view an email attachment for ex, I still cant print it, and if its say a PDF, then a separate "reader" opens (full screen) to display the document. Of course, the only way I have yet found to close the reader (or any such app) is CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up Task Manager and then terminate the app.
SERIOUSLY pissed off about this purely garbage POS OS.

I agree that Windows 8 isn't as intuitive for someone used prior versions as it should be, but it isn't that bad if you weren't trained by Windows for decades. I actually find that Windows 8 stole a lot of ideas from Apple.
Sarge, you know that once you have a program open, you can move your mouse to the top left corner to bring up your desktop? You can put a link to your download folder there. Or from the start page, type (I'm guessing here, I'm not on my Windows 8 machine) Windows Explorer or something similar and you will get the old familiar file tool. One of the folders on the left should be your download folder.
Reportedly the first patch of 8 is going to have the start button. I'm not missing now actually. I don't care for some of the Microsoft programs and how you close them. But, overall I like it. Then again, I've used a mix of Windows, iOS and Linux operating systems in the past, so I'm not quite as ingrained in how to do things. From people who only used Windows, I think your feelings are pretty common.

I don't like how the different levels don't talk to each other -- I'm in the Netflix "app" tile and am signed in streaming etc... and then I go into the "desktop" icon or browser and try to use Netflix there and it says I am NOT signed in. Same story with email... needs cross-tile connectivity.

After spending the majority of the past 3 days, trying and failing to configure the wireless router, LinksysE900, I am about to throw this $800 paperweight out the window (no pun intended) and go buy a MAC.
