The power went off while I was downloading e-mail today. I now get this message from Outlook Express:
An Outlook Express store file may be damaged. Please use a utility such as ScanDisk to verify and repair any damaged files.
However when I start Scandisk, it does a little and then I get a message saying that Scandisk has started and restarted 10 times and that Windows or some other program is writing to the disk. I get this message even if I haven't opened anything except Scandisk.

How do I get Outlook Express up and working again?

To get Scandisk to run to completion, you should boot up your computer in Safe Mode, and then run it.
