hen-

I got the "image hosted by..." message when I first opened this page.

Then, I pasted the URL in a different window, it came up. When I came back here, the helmet showed up here.

Not sure if that helps you (sorry, I know nothing about tripod), but I guess it works if it's already running.

And when I reload the page (with the URL page now closed), I just get the image hosted by... again.

ukula - you forgot to shut up. I hope you remember soon.

And I most certainly do NOT suck at fantasy sports. I just don't try very hard.

And the word on the street is that Tripod blocks most served images. So I got someone else to serve it.

Tripod, Geocities, Angelfire all block hosting images on other sites. Just a FYI

To elaborate on what KTx posted, all of those freebie sites check for what server is requesting the image. If the requesting party is another server, it blocks access. If you put the image path directly into your browser address bar, you get the image because the requesting party is your browser, which is obviously okay.

The hosting companies had to do this because so many people would sign up for a free account just to host images for things like eBay listings and such. It cost the hosting companies a lot of money with no ability to advertise like they do on the actual freebie sites that they host.
