Part II for gmail...
I have just been having a conversation with my brother via gmail about gmail's features and the ad links that I am getting on the side have all been for webmail services. Just wondering from others that have been using gmail if their ads have been revelant to their conversations. |

In their interview with Playboy they say that the program puts ads based on the content of the email

Two conversations I had today -
1- I copy/pasted a Washington Post article about how Zell Miller's speech about John Kerry was filled with untruths. Gmail provided 3 links to pro-Kerry sites.
2- My friend wrote about how KRod (from Anaheim Angels) is so dang good. Gmail provided 3 links to Anaheim tickets and jerseys.
Pretty darn accurate based on these two.

You mean you've never wondered how a search engine employs over 2000 people? You gotta keep them busy somehow. ;)

I'm sure they crawl all the e-mail for various key words, J. I'll also bet you agree to it in the TOS when you sign up (fine print). Do you realy think the govenment hasn't been doing this for years?
