Subject: Back online Posted by: Guru - [330592710] Sun, Feb 20, 12:38 Sorry for the Sunday morning outage. The server was functional once again around 1pm EST. When the problem occurred, the response everyone got was a page that said "forbidden access". Many of you assumed you had erroneously been blocked from the message forum, and sent me an email requesting reinstatement. Blocked users are still able to read the forum. They just can't post messages. So clearly, this wasn't related to a misdirected "blockage". I posted a note on the blurb page as soon as I became aware of the problem. That's always the first place to check before sending me emails reporting the problem. On a related note, there will be a hardware upgrade early Tuesday morning (between 2-4am, CST) which should improve site accessibility. During this installation period, the server may be unavailable, but after the upgrade, the intermittent access problems should be corrected. At least, that's what I'm told. | ||||||
| 1 | darkside ID: 42049319 Tue, Feb 29, 14:14 | Guru--I don't know if you got the upgrade this morning or not, but I thought I'd let you know I still get the connection refused error sometimes. However, it usually doesn't persist as long as before. If I wait a 30sec. or so and try to reconnect, I usually can. Just thought you might like to know in case you expected there to be no problems at all. | |||||
