0 Subject: Server move

I am tentatively planning to move the forum to a new dedicated server on Saturday, Oct. 8 - probably in the evening. During the transition time - probably no more than one or two hours - the forum will be temporarily disabled. I'll announce the timeframe at least a day in advance.

Saturdays tend to be the days of least activity, so that seems like the best time to make the switch.

My plan is to set this up so that your ID will transfer over to the new server as well. Nevertheless, I fully expect some glitches, which will probably include some failures in identifying GuruPatrons. Please be patient - I should have those issues resolved in short order.

The will be no need to reset any of your personal bookmarks for the time being. The current forum links will be set up to automatically redirect to the new server. Thus, aside from the slight down time, the move should be largely unnoticeable.

Thanks in advance for your patience during this transition.

Forum move is planned for sometime on Saturday evening, probably between the hours of 7-11pm ET. For about one hour during that time span, the forum will be down.

The move has been completed.

Let me know if you see anything that's not working correctly. Some of the reported times of the last thread updates will be an hour off, but these will correct themselves once a new update is made.

Moderators - to get to the moderator entry page, just replace the rotoguru3 with rotoguru1 in the domain of the URL.

One more item. Your ID information should have automatically transferred over from the old server. However, some features that are reserved for GuruPatrons only may not be activated until your GuruPatron status has been validated on this server.

There are two ways that you can do this.

1. If you post a message or a reply, this will happen automatically. You can tell if you are being recognized if you have the GuruPatron identifier after your name.

2. You can go to the GuruPatron validation page. This will confirm your GuruPatron recognition status, and also activate any features that depend on that status.

If your GuruPatron status has not transferred correctly, just me an email, and I'll get it fixed.

The only thing that I saw was that it brought back a thread that I deleted yesterday "Stats Correction".

Other than that it's fine.

Yes, I've been copying over threads during the past few weeks, so anything deleted recently might have reappeared over here. Feel free to re-delete, if you can.

Guru,

I noticed in the Basketball Standings thread, the Yahoo league thread started by either wiggs or Farn for a Gurupatron league is missing. Only thread I've noticed that got missed.

yeah, i started that keeper league thread.

i hope you can recover it or wiggs can remember the managers because i have been to busy to really delve into it so i have no idea who the managers are.

thanks guru.
