Guru,
(first let me say thanks for the site--- this is an idea that perhaps you have ability to implement and others could use)
An idea for the NBA 4-week scheduler. Would it be possible to put a link from the TEAM NAME to to "sartables" listing the players on that team? So if were wanted to 'buy a CLE player' because their schedule is great, I could click on the team name and get a list of CAVS with positions, prices... and other "sartable data"
Yes, I know that it is already possible to sart by team name, but it just seams a natural to be able to be able to jump from schedule to sartable without having to load the sartables and sart.
(anyway, thanks again for the site-- just looking for an idea that would add even more value if possible) |

Interesting idea. Let me mull it over.

-Didn't want to start a new thread unnecessarily, this concerns the 'Player Lookup' Feature:
Guru, have you considered displaying the high/low price of a player? When using the Player Lookup, the list of prices is especially useful to track a player's trend. In that list, using a bold font or a different color to denote the 'peak' price and 'low' price would definitely help me out. Before I buy a player I like to take into account his price level versus his price range. I'm sure as the season wears on, a feature like this would be even more useful with more data points to sort through. Perhaps this has been discussed before, what are your thoughts on it?

Hmmmm...
Will have to think about this. Given the way that this prrogram is set up, it is not a trivial programming exercise.

Guru,
Not a big deal, just something I thought of while researching players for some upcoming trades. I appreciate you considering the idea.
On a side note, I do realize that you already have the groundwork laid out with the 'Sortable Stats'; where you have green for a player whose price is at a max and red for a min. Programming wise, I assume you have the data in Sortable and Player Lookup coming from 2 different databases? Happy Thanksgiving

Something for the Sartibles:
In the header for the Schedule Outlook, could you make it look like this:
Sat 1/24 Schedule Outlook 1234567890123456789012345678
Now, hover your mouse over one of the numbers and a ToolTip will popup with the correlating date. This is for the "Calendar Impaired" people like me. No biggie, just an idea. I figure it would be less overhead to put it in a couple of headers, rather than each individual player (although that would be cool too).

Nice idea, RSF. I just did it.
I considered adding it to each player's line as well, but that ended up doubling the size of the page (in bandwidth required). I didn't think that was a good tradeoff.

Very nice. Extra crispy with the three letter date code too. Appreciate the work (and glad to see it wasn't too laborious.)
