Would it be possible to add Number of Replies as a column? It's there for the individual sports (baseball forum, etc), but not when viewing all sports together.

Easy to do.

Kinda freaky. But it's growing on me. And I always use that screen.

I just saw a site that has a column that lists page views on each tread next to it. Is that something that people would be interested in? Is it easily imped?

It could be done, but would take a little programming. Not sure it's of much value - and it could be abused. (I'm envisioning someone writing an automated routine to keep accessing the same thread over and over again, just for laughs. Could be a bandwidth hog.)

So I'm unlikely to do it.

I'm not sure why someone would want to do that, but wouldn't put it past them! Reason I ask is because I'm wondering how many threads are read but not responded to.

I saw the views thing here. Might not be a lot of value but could help to figure out the kinds of topics that are interesting even if there aren't posts on it (like the standings forum, etc.). Anyhow, it was just a thought. Thanks.

Yeah, I've seen it on other forums.

Maybe I'll try setting it up in one of the forum areas, and see how it goes.

Update on page views.

I started capturing that data yesterday, just to see what it looked like. Here's a quick summary.

In the past 24 hours, there have been 5866 threads viewed. Each time a person loads or reloads a thread, it is counted as a view.

Of those views, approximately 900 were by google crawlers (automated google programs that crawl around looking for updated info). There were also some views accessed by crawlers from other search engines - perhaps another 200-300 or so.

The action thread in the hoops forum ranked #1, with 934 views. The second most viewed was the Hoops injury thread, with 402. 178 different people (usig either ID or IP address) viewed the action thread at least once. 150 viewed the injury thread.

The Hoops forum was the most active, with almost 2000 views (including crawlers). The baseball standings forum ranked 2nd, with 1601. Most (maybe all) of those are draft-related threads.

Interesting stuff, but unless Ref really needs that on a regular basis, we can make do. ;)

Not that anyone NEEDS it, just find it interesting. For example, shows that even though people might not be posting in the "action" thread doesn't mean it isn't being used.
