I have added an additional feature to the Thread Filter.
You can now search the entire text of each thread.
For example, you could filter for all threads containing "branyan", or perhaps all threads containing your username. If you do the latter, you'll get a list of every thread you have replied to as well as every thread in which someone mentions your name.
A few notes:- For the topic areas with many threads, this will probably take a few seconds. Be patient.
- The search takes place starting immediately under the "Posted by:" line in the thread, and ends at the beginning of the lower set of navigation menus. All text in this area is scanned, including html tags.
- If you supply multiple filters at the same time, the reply exclusion will apply to all threads, but the other filters will be "or" type. Thus, if you look for subjects containing "moron" and page text containing "moron", you'll get a list of threads that satisfy either criteria.
Hope you find this feature useful. I doubt if it will be heavily used, but it should help track down that specific thread that couldn't be identified by subject or submitter. |

I like the new filter, but if anyone uses it, it seems I get their selections. When I came to this page I only had those threads with "ref" in it. The filter box also had "ref" in it. This has happened 3 times in the baseball forum and once here. I am using Netscape 4.06
