Subject: SW confirms prize for Brazilian Fantasy Soccer. Posted by: Motley Crue - [101010298] Thu, Mar 15, 12:22 For Anyone who has been following my saga--or anyone else who might care--I wanted to share an e-mail I received from "Yolanda" the other day on behalf of Small World. The original letter was in Portuguese (remember, I was playing Brazilian Fantasy Soccer), and since most of you probably don't speak or read that, I loosely translated into English. What follows is my version, and I believe it is around 99% accurate. -------------------------------------------------- Congratulations! Your virtual team finished in the Top 10 of the Brazilian Championship, and you just won US$1000 (one thousand dollars)! To receive your prize it's neccesary for you to fill out and fax the attached documents within the next 10 days. Attached are the following documents: winner responsibility, certificate of guarantee, and declaration of taxes. Confirmation of your eligibility to receive your prize will be made when your fax is received. Thanks for playing Brasileirao Virtual and once more, Congratulations! PS: The check will be sent in the next 4 to 6 weeks. -------------------------------------------------- The website had originally stated that the prize for a Top 10 finish was a 36" TV, which would have been great. I think, however, the cash will be of greater use to me, if in fact that is what they send me. Anyway, it is apparent at this point that SW is still at least treading water and will be able to dish out any prizes they promise. Now I can sit back and figure out a way to get a new hat in baseball.... | ||||||

I promised myself a few months ago that the Brazilian game was WAY to frustrating to play again next year. Jeez, with all the scoring errors, being ignored by administrators, and the Brazilians themselves constantly changing the schedule, it was a real headache! But honestly, if I knew I had a chance at such a good prize again next year, I would play. Anyone who thinks that will happen should check out the prizes being offered for winning baseball this year, though. //MC | |||||
