Subject: GuruPatron ID Validation Posted by: Guru - [330592710] Mon, Apr 23, 14:48 I've programmed the system to recognize the ID numbers for listed GuruPatrons. If the system works properly, any future message posted by a GuruPatron should have the appropriate giving category (Leader, Sustainer, or Donor) as a subtitle to their Gurupie name. The system currently refers only to the ID number. This creates several potential loopholes, including:
To check on your ID and GuruPatron status on this computer, click here. This link will open a new browser window, report your ID#, and indicate the GuruPatron status of that ID, if any. To report any needed additions or corrections, just send an email to davehall@home.com. Please include your ID number and your GuruPatron name (if any). I'll let you know when the correction has been made, at which time you can return here to revalidate the ID. Thanks in advance for your help in implementing this system. Below is the current list of GuruPatrons for whom I have no ID. If you are on the list, please report your ID to me. Guru, It seems that although I always use my home PC, that my ID seems to change. For instance, it's different between IE and Netscape, and apparently even between different IE sessions. Is it possible for us to send you multiple IDs? | |||||

Different browsers will have different IDs. That's normal. But they shouldn't change from session to session. That suggests that cookies aren't being saved. I can easily handle multiple IDs. Some users have quite a few, especially if they use a lot of different machines. But if your IDs are changing daily, I'll need to use some other identification method for you. | |||||

Hi Guru For security reasons I store cookies in RAM and they vanish when I shut down my PC. Thus my ID is not fixed. This means I won't be recognized by your system but it is not a bug on your part. :-) | |||||
