Subject: Same ID, different names, same thread

I suggested this in another thread.
What we need is a modification to the forum software so if the same ID posts to a thread but with a different name, the name/id/donor status/date/time box in grey says 'aka' and then the prior name. That may cut down on the conversations people have with themselves or when someone tries to reinforce his/her point with another name agreeing with it.
Just a suggestion. |

Wouldn't we know it's the same person by the ID number? Or are you saying that the fact that it's the same ID number should be brought to the forefront?
It might make those posts where we call ourselves specific ballplayers less funny.

That is possible, but it's not a trivial program change, and I wonder whether it's worth it. So far, it seems that these instances have been pretty quickly detected without any programming interference.
There are also occasional instances where different people post from the same computer. It may not be appropriate to flag those.
Sometimes it may be OK to let the human brain do some work.
